Can't achieve alias working with SQL
Hello, On a fresh install of Jessie, I achieve to make dovecot/postfix working with SQL, but I still can't send email to alias for wich one I get : "Unknown user" After debug enable in dovecot, I see that the user_query SQL , just query for the "users" table and not the "forward" table so the final alias user is not known. But when I check postfix for

Catch-all with LMTP and Postfix
Hidy-ho, I'm having a difficult time getting catch-all working when using Dovecot LMTP. I would like *@example.com (everything) to go to virtual at example.com, where virtual is a valid virtual user. It seems that things are getting as far as LMTP, but then the mail gets bounced. To wit: Aug 21 08:02:50 hostname postfix/lmtp[4914]: 8DF8E9AFE6: to=<test at example.com>,

alias does not work
Hi, Thank you to everyone who helped me get near the goal. Remains a problem is that aliases don't work. The problem is that in the configuration of alternc, the mails are seen as aliases in the form user_domain.tld. In a second time, a match is made to see if an "real" alias exists. postmap -q test at lists.test.net mysql:/etc/postfix/mydomain.cf test-owner_lists.collectifs.net

Postfix and LDAP
Hi Everyone, I thought I'd try asking here before joining the postfix mail list since I'm running postfix on a CentOS 7 box. I want to look up accounts via LDAP (an IPA server also on CentOS 7). I created an "ldap_aliases" file and successfully tested it with the postmap command: I can get the email address for an arbitrary user. But, when I add the very same file to main.cf, I

dovecot howto?
Hi, is there a *simple* HOWTO that explains a simple postfix+dovecot setup? Up to now, I used postfix+cyrus, worked fine. But I do not get postfix+dovecot to work. Currently, all emails go to /dev/null. What really would help me is a dovecot lmtp server. Is there any? unexpected delivery location
Hi, We're running dovecot 2.2.13, virtual users, with postfix. We have an olddomain and a new domainname. To 'translate' *@olddomain into *@newdomain, I have configured: > cat /etc/postfix/canonical > @olddomain.com @newdomain.com While this seems to work, lately we have noticed that dovecot occasionally creates mailboxes for non-existent users, like: >

mixing virtual and system users
Hello all, I'm setting up a small mail server for aprox 20 users, and I'm trying to keep it really simple so I went the virtual users as text file way, following this page : http://lukas-schulze.de/2012/02/setup-postfix-and-dovecot-on-debian-squeeze-with-users-stored-text-file/ It seemed to work fine except for the 'system' users, and I am stumped by this. Basically the config
