Duplicate mails with pop3 + dsync replication
FWIW I just tried the sdbox mailbox format for a singe user (not the whole installation) by overriding the mail-userattr via ldap and the problem persists, so I don?t think it?s an issue with maildir per se, but rather a pop3 / replication issue or a misconfiguration on my side. Running dsync results in Panic: file mbox-lock.c: line 799 (mbox_lock)
Hello, I'm converting our system to use dovecot. As part of the migration we need to convert existing mbox'es to Maildir format. I'm using latest Dovecot2 available as FreeBSD pkg - 2.2.13. I'm trying to use dsync, which results in: ./dsync -vfu ppaczyn -o mail_location=mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/ppaczyn mirror maildir:~/Maildir dsync(ppaczyn): Panic: file mbox-lock.c: line 799

Duplicate mails with pop3 + dsync replication
It turns out that if I enable this option: pop3_deleted_flag = "$POP3Deleted? The issue no longer persists. I have to manually expunge the kept mails that have been deleted via pop3 though: doveadm expunge mailbox INBOX KEYWORD '$POP3Deleted' -A Wolfgang > On 21 Jun 2015, at 21:05, Wolfgang Hennerbichler <wogri at wogri.com> wrote: > > FWIW I just tried the sdbox

Duplicate mails with pop3 + dsync replication
Hi, When I enable (and it only happens when it is actually running) replication over TCP my users get duplicate mails via pop3. Here?s what happens: * User gets mail * Mail appears in (Maildir) new/ folder on both replicas * user retrieves mail (retr), calls dele. Mail still exists in new/ folder on both replicas. * user runs retr (and gets the duplicate) and dele a second time, the mail is

dsync mirror does not maintain changes between mailboxes
Hi, running: dsync -D -v -o mail_fsync=never mirror -R -f -u user at domain imapc: Where "domain" is a cyrus imap server does not do what the documentation says it does, not even close. After the first run to an empty mailbox on the dovecot 2.2.13 server all the mails (1.1GB) seem to be correctly synced. I send a test email to the dovecot server and it shows up correctly. Second

Problems with dsync and global acls
Hi all! I have 2 servers running dsync tcp replication between them. After setting global ACLs to * user=admin lrwstipekxa on both hosts, I get the following errors during replication for every folder: dsync-local(mwegrzynek): Error: Mailbox Trash: Failed to set attribute vendor/vendor.dovecot/pvt/acl/user=admin: Invalid right '' This error first manifested in version 2.2.13, there

Migrating from qmail server, invalid option "o" in dsync
Hi folks, I have an old server running qmail with several years of mails in maildir format I want to migrate to a new server, without requiring fresh client download of everything. Old server is debian 6(?). Local IP is 192.168.0.1. New server is Debian 10, local IP is 192.168.0.25. I have dovecot 2.3.4.1 (latest from apt stable) installed and apparently working - if I manually copy the home

dsync error: Error: Can't delete mailbox INBOX: INBOX can't be deleted.
Hello, I'm aware of these two threads http://www.dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2012-March/thread.html#134311 http://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2012-June/thread.html#136488 but unfortunately I wasn't successful with my dsync mailbox migration attempt despite the information I could find there. I'm using iRedMail setup for the dovecot server. I made sure that the dovecot mailbox

dsync / doveadm sync problem
Hi, I had an old dovecot server with a working backup script. Basic concept was: - to dsync to a temp folder - using tar to preserve datetime - piping this 7z to benefit from my 16 core cpu - piping this through openssl to encrypt Over time the size of all my mail grew from 3GB to about 70GB. I used to keep the last 14 backups, but this uses a lot of space. I now want to dsync my

dsync issues due to Prefix difference?
Hi everyone, I'm hoping I am just missing something obvious - but I cannot seem to get a one-way migration dsync working between two Dovecot servers because the Prefix configuration is different. I am doing a migration from our old Dovecot servers to some new cPanel based ones. Source: 2.2.15 Dest: 2.2.21 Here is the debug output for the sync: doveadm(root): Debug: Loading modules from

dsync crash
Hello, I am getting a persistent seg fault while trying to sync our server to a new location. We are on 2.2.33.2, due for an upgrade but we have used dsync successfully in the past. In fact, we used it to populate this same instance. So I hope this is just a configuration issue. My logs are being filled with these errors:: 2019-07-10T08:29:53-04:00 localhost dovecot: [ID 583609 mail.crit]

dsync error: gz trailer has wrong CRC value
A few days ago by dovecot installation started behaving weirdly. First it was doveadm fts optimize which would fail (a thread running about that) and now it's dsync, which means my backups are not working. This all started a few days ago, which I find a little weird, because I haven't messed around with the dovecot setup in months. I've been searching the internet, but didn't find

dsync core dump
Dear all, We're slowly progressing towards migration, and now run into dscyn dumping core when trying to sync mailboxes from the old imap server. Needless to say that not one byte get's transferred. On the old.server all I see is a correct login. This is what we get for one example user: server:~# doveadm -v -D backup -R -u USER imapc: doveadm(root): Debug: Loading modules from

still having dsync issues after upgrading to latest
Trying to migrate a bunch of users with mbox format to maildir format. dsync creates some directories, but otherwise does nothing. (Complained about the lack of "/" as separator until I added that to config, now is silent when running dsync except with the -D flag) I have tried dumping all the dovecot that came with my OS and built the latest sources, hoping I'd at least get a
