how to run dovecot imap on separate server from postfix?
Hello Reindl, thank you for the response.
I want to make sure that the postfix delivery does not give up trying to
get the email delivered when the lmtp host is not reachable. I do not
just want to assume that the default settings are correct for us.
Are there postfix or other settings which can be checked and adjusted?

how to run dovecot imap on separate server from postfix?
Hello
we are using version 2.2.13 on debian.
currently imap runs on the same system as postfix , spamassassin and
other mail related software.
I'd like to move dovecot imapd and mail storage to its own system.
I've search google and wiki and could not see how to do so.
could someone please point me in the direction to that done? I like
reading documentation..

Very minor bug; not specifying the user mask with 'doveadm replicator

'doveadm replicator remove' only temporary?
Hi folks,
Wondering if this is expected behavior; we'd like to be able to pause
replication for a particular account on our 2.2.32 active-active
cluster, but delivering a message (LMTP) to the account seems to turn
replication back on again:
(replication on)

how to run dovecot imap on separate server from postfix?
I'm trying to figure out the exact line to put to /etc/postfix/main.cf
for local lmtp deliver we use:
mailbox_transport = *lmtp:unix:private/dovecot-lmtp*
for remote it is supposed to be:* lmtp:host:port*
yet at the remote lmtp does not use ports. UNIX domain sockets are used
instead:
netstat --listening --programs| grep lmtp
unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 8457

how to run dovecot imap on separate server from postfix?
OK I got delivery from postfix to lmtp working ,
by changing from unix_listener to inet_listener .
Reindl wrote "don't open the port for any other machine as the postfix
server"
I see that is important.. I assume that just a firewall setting? Or
does the 'address' line in inet_listener lmtp have something to do with
it?

syncing imap servers with imapsync
hello list,
I am attempting to sync two imap servers using the imapsync perl script. It seems handy and easy.
Here's what happens when I try to do this:

# Postfix master process configuration file. For details on the format
# of the file, see the master(5) manual page (command: "man 5 master").

Calling All FS Fanatics
Now that I've been enlightened to the terrible write performance of ext3 on my
new 3Ware RAID 5 array, I'm stuck choosing an alternative filesystem. I
benchmarked XFS, JFS, ReiserFS and ext3 and they came back in that order from
best to worst performer.
I'm leaning towards XFS because of performance and because centosplus makes
kernel modules available for the stock kernel.

Imap daemons for CentOS 6 (other then cyrus-imapd)
Are there any imap daemons (besides cyrus-imapd). cyrus-imapd is appearently
not compatible with postfix + procmail. I need an imap daemon that will work
with a postfix + procmail system.
