Dovecot and Solr 6
Hi! Dovecot 2.2.24 Had set up solr and new schema collection. Copied dovecot provided schema. There was an error with booleans (while getting schema via http), which I "solved" by removing "add-unknown-fields-to-the-schema" from solrconfig.xml. It is correct way to solve this? Anyway, I run tcpdump to see network activity between dovecot and solr: #tcpdump -i lo port 8983

Solr
After some testsing, I managed to get proper functionning - The schema.xml is attached below (quite different from the one provided on teh wiki) (in bold the core differences) (NGramFilterFactory is the class that replace the fts_squat "partial=3 full=15", everything else is just a big hammer to smash a tiny fly) - One need to remove the "managed-schema" file in the

Do we really need Solr commit as cronjob?
I am testing Solr FTS on dovecot. Read online that some suggested to run cronjob commit every minute, and optimize once a day. I am using Solr 7.1.0 and I see some configurations: In /etc/default/solr.in.sh: #SOLR_OPTS="$SOLR_OPTS -Dsolr.autoSoftCommit.maxTime=3000" #SOLR_OPTS="$SOLR_OPTS -Dsolr.autoCommit.maxTime=60000" Also in solrconfig.xml: ??? <autoCommit>

dovecot, fts, solr5 patch, fuzzy search
Hi! I have a patch and several thoughts about FTS in dovecot. I. SOLR v5.1 and above doesn't allow GET /select queries with Content-Type header set, so, I just removed it from the code: --- dovecot-2.2.18/src/plugins/fts-solr/solr-connection.c 2015-05-13 17:14:45.000000000 +0300 +++ dovecot-2.2.18.patch/src/plugins/fts-solr/solr-connection.c 2015-09-27 19:47:40.363843359 +0300 @@ -432,7

THen the Squat shall be maintained until the SOlr plugin is upgraded, as Squat does resolve the problem (fts, partial search, etc...) Hi I am giving Solr another try. Using Solr 7.5 (from Archlinux AUR), I do not see anymore the"solr/conf/schema.xml" neither the "managed-schema" folder. (as per https://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/FTS/Solr) Maybe some things have moved ? Thank you so much -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

The one on the Wiki is mine...which I'm using now.? So it certainly does work - but perhaps there's a setting you have differently from me. Performing a "create -c dovecot" creates a Solr instance *named* dovecot - that does *not* initialize it with the necessary schema.? You need to specify "-d dovecot", with a dovecot configset already setup, to do that. The

The real main differecne seems coming from "diffconfig.xml" When I put yours, Solr delete (!) schema.xml and create a "manage-schema" and starts complaining about useless types (tdates, booleans, etc..) that are not needed for Mail fileds When I put mine (from standard distribution of Arch), it keeps things as they are (yeah !), does not complains about those useless types

Before I go down the route of upgrading our main Solr instance from 6 to 7, just checking if anyone is using Solr 7 with Dovecot.
