Is it possible to migrating mail to dovecot using imapc?
I'm excited to hear that dovecot now supports imap as a mailbox type. I've got a mailbox over on another imap server, which I want to migrate to dovecot. I was wondering whether I could use 'doveadm backup' to setup a two way synchronisation process between the old imap mailbox and the new dovecot mailbox. That way I can do the migration, and can coordinate the mail clients

Is it possible to disable pipelining in imapc?
Hi, I've a broken IMAP server, which doesn't support pipelining and fails on dovecot's attempt to do this ([C] is dovecot's imapc, [S] is the IMAP server): [C] 24 LOGIN "user" "pass" [S] 23 OK [C] 25 SELECT "INBOX" [C] 23 UID FETCH 2 (INTERNALDATE) [S] 25 OK [S] 23 BAD No mailbox selected Sadly, fixing the server would be a hard task, turning off

dovecot-2.2: dsync to imapc not working
Hello. I have dovecot installation # dovecot --version 20130205 (03a0af22100d+) built with imapc backend. I'm tried to sync mailboxes from another server after clean mail directory localy: # dsync -v -o imapc_user="user at example.org" -o imapc_password="pass" -o imapc_host=imap.example.org -o imapc_features=rfc822.size -o mailbox_list_index=no backup -R -f -u

Getting duplicated mails while using imapc and dsync
Hello list, currently I'm migrating our old mailserver to a new mail architecture that is based on a master-master dovecot setup (two machines). The replication actually works but I'm also syncing our mails from the current mailserver via imapc on a regular schedule. For some reason I've in most (but not all) imapc-synced mailboxes duplicated emails that I also can't

dovecot proxying with imapc
Dear sir, I have to set up a mail gateway which will be explored to Internet and a secure mail server in the Intranet. I need a smart imap proxy in the mail gateway which will fetch the mail from server and present to user through either a stand alone mail client or a web mail client. All authentication is through ldap server. I followed the instructions given in

Assertion failed with imapc after upgrading Dovecot from 2.1.7 to 2.2.9
Hi ! I have an old Courier IMAP and in front of it, I have put a proxy cache with Dovecot/imapc. I use Debian Wheezy (stable) which package Dovecot in version 2.1.7. I have tested the upgrade to Debian Jessie (testing) which package Dovecot in version 2.2.9 but an assertion is thrown : dovecot: imap(xxx): Panic: file imapc-list.c: line 499 (imapc_list_delete_unused_indexes): assertion failed:

Using dsync+imapc for migration from other IMAP servers to Dovecot
Dovecot v2.1 hg (http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot-2.1) now supports doing e.g.: dsync -o plugin/imapc_user=remote.user at example.com -o plugin/pass=remote-password mirror imapc:imap.example.com dsync will preserve message UIDs and UIDVALIDITY/UIDNEXT values for mailboxes, just like with all other storage backends. A couple of bad things: 1) It currently fetches one message at a time from server.

imapc - different settings for different namespaces
Originally I was planning on allowing all kinds of mail settings inside namespace {}, including imapc_* settings. But that's a bit difficult to implement (although I think it will happen some day). So for now I was thinking: imapc foo { host = imap.foo.com master_user = foomaster password = foopass } imapc bar { host = imap.bar.com ... } namespace { prefix = foo/ location =

imapc / namespace question
Hi, I've got two questions regarding imapc and namespaces: 1) Is there a way of stating, that I only want part of the hierarchy on the end of an imapc connection to be available here? My "problem": On the other end the layout is: INBOX.Shared.{some,nice,folders} If I mirror this into my dovecot hierarchy with prefix "Gemeinsam" I get the following folder structure:

quota with imapc
Dear dovecot team, I have set up my mail system with a mail gateway connecting to mail server using imapc. Now I need my web mail client to show up the quota info. I enabled quota plugins in dovecot.conf. The problem is since all mails reside in the server, the web mail which is in mail gateway always shows the quota as 0. Is there any way the plugin will get quota info from the mail server? I

Capabilities of imapc
Hi *, I can't find any decent information about the capabilities of imapc in the planned future dovecot releases. As I think about using imapc, I'll just give the two use-cases I see for me. Will this be possible with imapc? 1) One (or more) folders in a mailbox which are proxied? 2) Proxy a whole mailbox _and use the folders in it as shared folders_. That means account X on Server 1
