dovecot/auth CPU spikes
Hi All,
I have recently moved by webmail server from a VPS to a hosted dedicated server running Ubuntu 16.04.
Everything is fine except that login is particularly and consistently long (around 4-5 seconds).
I have noticed that the process dovecot/auth seems to eat all of the resources of one of the cores available on the host during login. The authentication backend is a postgres database which

Same symptoms here when upgrading from 2.2.29 to 2.2.30. Getting back to 2.2.29 resolve the problem.
The client here is a webmail ( rainloop ). User automatically logout as if the auth did'nt succed although log show successfull login attempt
My configuration

replication fails and corrupts index with zlib enabled
Hi, I have two Debian Jessie servers with Dovecot 2.2.13 TCP replication
on that have worked fine for years, but now one of them is running low
on disk space, so I wanted to try enabling zlib.
I crafted a script following the description given in
https://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/Zlib and xz'ed some inboxes on the
stand-by server, the one with low disk space. So every email in those

mdbox_deleted proper syntax
hello,
on the wiki, https://wiki2.dovecot.org/MailboxFormat/dbox, it says that one can
use either doveadm fetch or doveadm import, however I can find no correct syntax
with fetch that'll actually work. Is the idea to simply override the
mail_location with -o ? That seems to work for doveadm mailbox but not for
doveadm fetch or search

Sieve broken after upgrade
Hi everyone,
after switching to ubuntu (from debian) and running a newer dovecot
--version 2.2.33.2 (d6601f4ec) i encountered a problem with configuring
sieve. The mailserver has virtual maila accounts stored in /decrypted/%d/%n
Prior, i used
plugin {
? sieve = ~/.dovecot.sieve
? sieve_dir = ~/sieve
? sieve_before = /etc/dovecot/sieve/before.d
}
after the upgrade, I moved the sieve_before

problem with shared folders and acls - only able to share INBOX
Hi everybody,
I have a problem that I cannot share subfolders of the mailboxes INBOX ,
e.g. /Sent / Trash etc. but also no self created folders.
The ACLs seem to be set right.
I have the suspicion that the dictionary (
/var/lib/dovecot/db/shared-mailboxes.db ) is not updated - there are no
entries for the sub folders
I just cannot find the problem within my configuration. Many thanks for

Getting an extprogram script to work
Hi all,
I'm trying to do the same thing everyone else is: having rspamd
learn_ham or learn_spam depending on where I move a message. My current
problem is that Dovecot seems to be reporting success, but nothing ever
happens -- the script somehow fails to run.
I'm currently using a dummy script that just writes a file to /tmp,
until I can get this much working, at least. My bin_dir:

AW: problem with shared folders and acls - only able to share INBOX
Hi,
i found the solution for my problem (RTFM)
doveadm acl debug => Folder \.Subfolder cannot be accessed => dots in
maildir format
I added a 'Layout=fs' to the namespace definition.
Thanks and cheers

permission denied errors with INDEX=MEMORY and trees plugin
I am using the trees[1] plugin to encrypt the mail on my disk. Because I
don't want it to store any metadata in plaintext, I've also set
INDEX=MEMORY in my mail_location configuration.
However, whenever I get new mail I get errors like the following showing up in the journal:

imapsieve wrong matches on APPEND cause
Hello,
I'm experiencing some strange problem with imapsieve mailbox rules matching.
I have Ubuntu Server 18.04.1 LTS with Postfix 3.3.0, Dovecot 2.2.33.2 and
Rspamd 1.7.9.
The problem occurs with Microsoft Outlook 2016 mail client.
When moving with Outlook, APPEND event is logged instead of MOVE.
However, when moving with another client, MOVE event is logged.
So without APPEND event in

Learning ham/spam with IMAPSieve: sa-learn-ham.sh terminated abnormally, signal 11
Hello,
I am trying to get rspam to learn what is spam and what is ham.
After following the IMAPSieve guide in the dovecot wiki
(https://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/AntispamWithSieve), the mail.log shows
the following, whenever I move a mail from the Spam folder to my inbox
and vice versa:

antispam plugin pipe backend error when moving multiple emails
Hi,
I've got some trouble with the dovecot antispam plugin and the pipe backend.
I'm using dovecot 2.2.18 with maildirs and zlib compression enabled.
When moving 2 or more emails at once from the Junk folder to another one, I always have the following error : "Failed to copy to temporary file"
In the server logs :

At least doveconf -n output would help. I guess related to authentication settings. Are there any errors in logs?

I will, but that doesn't seem to answer the question of the header
rewriting. How can I explain to rspamd and/or sieve that a message that
was delivered, but marked as spam is in fact NOT spam?
