dovecot.org slow & imap search now blazing fast
Hi. In case you were not aware, I wanted to let you know that dovecot.org has been very slow (often almost unusable) for at least several days now. Also, I upgraded my dovecot from 2.2.10 to 2.2.15. Thank you for fixing IMAP search. I have c. 2mm messages, and it had become unusable before but it is now very fast. (I saw a reference to an optimisation on the mailing list from back in Oct

indexer-worker panics with latest mercurial
Hi. I am seeing the following in my logs. Happy to downgrade to an earlier version if you think this might be the problem, but dovecot.org is extremely slow (and has been for months) so I found it easier just to pull the latest from mercurial. Thanks. Laeeth Mar 12 20:48:39 indexer: Error: Indexer worker disconnected, discarding 1 reques ts for laeeth at laeeth.com Mar 12 20:48:39

Sis attachment deduplication
Hi. Two questions: 1. Is this now reasonably stable for large mailboxes (c 2mm messages)? 2. Will this leave the filename in the message body unchanged? So for example if I have the same attachment called proposalfromvendor.pdf and proposaltoclient.pdf in two different emails, will the original names be kept ? Or will it replace the filename with some kind of numeric hash ? Many thanks.

Thanks Joseph, Aki, but something missing from upgrade document, where does the dh param file go? I located ssl-parameters.dat so I will put it there. doveadm fetch vs search+fetch
What's the pactical difference between using "doveadm fetch" rather than using "doveadm search" in conjunction with "doveadm fetch", as the man pages suggest? It seems "doveadm fetch" functionally supercedes "doveadm search" making the latter obsolete. It can even be closely simulated with "doveadm -f tab fetch ... 'mailbox-guid

Nice to get to hear this. However, the password is not stored in clear text here. How then does it work? Indexing Mail faster
Hey Joseph Thanks. Strace seems like a very useful tool Only problem is that I dont think it is maintained on ubuntu. Tried to run:- apt-get install strace but could not download it. Might need to download and build it. Do you know any other way of getting it? Thanks Kevin A. On Thu, Jan 29, 2015 at 3:34 PM, Joseph Tam <jtam.home at gmail.com> wrote: > Kevin writes: > >

Certificate cache on iOS with sending mail
I deleted the certificate already, but I think it only uses that for imap/dovecot. I don't think it actually stores one for smtps (or am I not talking sense here).
