strange sieve situation
Hi there, I've been working on rolling out the "deliver" service so we can implement sieve. Dovecot 1.2.11, Postfix 2.6.6, FreeBSD 8, installed by ports. Clustered environment, NFS backend. Everything is working great for the most part, I'm using it to sort a copy of my personal email on a test server. However, I noticed two emails were not properly sorted. I had added a

LMTP proxying strategy with multiple recipient delivery
Hi Timo and All, how does Dovecot act when an MTA tries to deliver a multiple recipient message to a LMTP proxied system? Does it uses server affinity table for each recipient? I use lmtp_destination_recipient_limit = 1 setting in postfix to avoid multiple recipient delivery. Is it right? I use lmtp_destination_concurrency_limit = 1 too, but i think that it's useless or, maybe, it can

LMTP & home, chroot, mail userdb fields.
Hello, Dovecot. I'm using postfix + dovecot with pure virtual users. postfix uses standard virtual transport, and dovecot fetches such fields from userdb: chroot: "/usr/home/hosted/v-mail/%d/%n" home: "/" mail: "maildir:." Everything works Ok -- dovecot founds users' mail. Now, after upgrade to dovecot2, I want to use it LMTP server as

Advantage of LMTP
Sat, 2 Aug 2014 06:53:58 -0400 Presently, I have: "virtual_transport = dovecot" in my Postfix main.cf file and dovecot unix - n n - - pipe flags=DRhu user=vmail:vmail argv=/usr/local/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-lda -f ${sender} -d ${recipient} in the master.cf file. Is there any advantage to using LMPT instead? All of my users are configured as virtual

Dovecot 2 + Director: IMAP+GSSAPI and LMTP-proxying
Hi all, I have a setup of some nodes running Dovecot 2.0.13 and Postfix 2.5.6 with storage in NFS and authentication happening with PAM. Poking around in the wiki, I tried out different possibilities but now I am stuck -- and are hoping for your (enlightening) comments and tips. My planned setup for IMAP and LMTP is like this: IMAP ==== 1. A loadbalancer directs new sessions to a

Dovecot LMTP mixing up users on multi-recipient mail
Hi, I've upgraded a mailstore from Debian Jessie (aka oldstable) with Dovecot 2.2.13 to Debian Buster (next stable) with Dovecot 2.3.4.1 today. It worked pretty well, except that we're seeing error messages very similar to this old thread https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2015-July/101396.html It appears to be happening when a mail with multiple recipients on this message store is

Postfix Ignoring lmtp, delivering straight to maildir
Hello Doug, First off since this is a postfix configuration problem I beleive it would be better suited in the postfix mailing list. The way I understand it is that you are editing the virtual transport map when you should be changing the local transport map because you are delivering to a normal, system user, not a virtual user. Try and see if that works for you. ? -- Yassine. On

LMTP with address extension
hallo, I have a problem configuring lmtp service. I use postfix+dovcot2.0.7 with "recipient_delimeter = -". If i switch to dovecot-lda, all works fine, but going to lmtp service it dosn't. Maybe it works with default delimeter "+", but i plan to move from qmail system with many existent mailboxes. Enclosed some configuration/logentries. Can you give me a hint ? Best
