ACLs and public folders
Dear list,
I am using dovecot 1.0.15 on Debian Lenny. I have a public folder, I use ACL / vfile (without public ACL), and I use maildir / vmail. Now I have two questions:
1) http://wiki.dovecot.org/ACL states: "Mailboxes in public namespaces don't have owners, so by default no-one can access them." The same document, when explaining the meaning of the k flag in the ACLs, states:

Problem with configuring dovecot to take namespaces from database
Hello!
I'd like to set up dovecot to keep namespaces in database, keep more
than one namespace per user.
I try to create the simplest rule (even without tuple in db table) to
get new namespace, unfortunately it doesn't work.
My user_query is:
SELECT '/dane/domeny/%d/mail/%n/' as home, dovecot_typ_skrzynki ||':'||
'/dane/domeny/%d/mail/%n/' ||'.'||

Are configurations (with separate formats per namespace) - such as ...

location = maildir:/var/mail1/%%n/
}
namespace {

T.38 not working - help needed with log interpretation
Dear all,
I have the following situation:
Local T.38 endpoint <-> ASTERISK <-> SIP provider (with T.38 support)
I am trying to send a fax from my local T.38 endpoint to arbitrary external fax numbers (which I am not in control of, so I don't know if the other end supports T.38, is connected to a PBX, who is their provider, and so on), of course trying to use T.38 at least from

How to use dovecot only as POP3 server / prevent it from creating .imap directories?
Dear all,
on our mail server, I let sendmail deliver incoming messages to a file in mbox format called "inbox" in each user's home directory. Now I would like to use dovecot as POP3 server so that users can let their MUA download their messages via POP3. I do not want to use any IMAP functionality.
The POP3 part works with the configuration shown below, but nevertheless there is a

how to setup different quota for multiple namespaces
Hello all,
I am using dovecot for some time now but always had very basic
configurations. I recently have configured a new, additional namespace
in order to move archived mails (Thunderbird Archives) to another
storage system.
namespace {
type = private
separator = .
prefix = Archives.
location = maildir:/var/vmail/archive/%Ln/Maildir
subscriptions = yes
list = children
inbox = no

mdbox: Cannot create subfolder called "dbox-Mails" (2.0beta5)
I am trying out "mdbox" under Dovecot 2.0beta5.
Looking in the "mailboxes" directory under the mdbox storage root
("~/dbox" in my case), I can see that the mail folders are mapped into
filesystem directories.
But Dovecot seems to put all the message list information
("dovecot.index.cache", "dovecot.index.log") for any given mail folder

lazy_expunge and shared folders
Hi,
since migration to Dovecot 2.2 I have troubles with lazy_expunge as soon as
a user shares a folder. The user the folder is shared to cannot login
anymore, dovecot logs Fatal: lazy_expunge: Unknown namespace: '.EXPUNGED/'
- When no folder is shared lazy_expunge is working fine, deleted mails are
moved to the expunged namespace and can be recovered without any problems.

Disabling compressed storage for one public namespace - is it possible?
Greetings,
I've got Dovecot 2.2.X running with gzip compressed storage enabled by
default.
My question though is: is it possible to disable this compressed
storage for one specific, public namespace only? I haven't found quite
much information about it on the wiki.
Thanks in advance.
