How to build virt-v2v after the project was separated
Looks like virt-v2v cannot be built now, since it requires non-existing version
of libguestfs-devel.
Based on (no README or any instructions in virt-v2v)
http://libguestfs.org/guestfs-building.1.html
I tried this:
git clean -dxf
./autogen.sh
And it fails with:
--- Checking for libraries used by virt-v2v ---
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version

e2fsck version
Hi,
just to do nothing wrong:
for lustre 1.6.0.1 e2fsprogs version: 1.39.cfs8 is recommended.
Can I assume that I can also better use the most recent version which is
recommended for 1.6.4.1 which is e2fsprogs version: 1.40.2-cfs1

This issue is for a different problem that appeared on some
architectures after I forced *config.ml to be regenerated for the Debian
builds of libguestfs 1.40.2, see

RHEL 7 and guestmount of XFS volumes
Hi,
I'm experiencing a weird behavior when tried to use guestmount with a XFS
formatted volume. I have created a RHEL 8 virtual machine using libvirt. I
have retrieved the disk image on a RHEL 7.7 server to mount the image root
filesystem and explore it.
The command returns an error message:
# guestmount -a /disks/jamesdream.qcow2 -m /dev/sda1 /mnt/
libguestfs: error: mount_options: mount

Re: Libguestfs with Yara rules error
Hi Richard.
Few days ago, I installed libyara a libguestfs properly. But when I load
a yara rule and scan it via guestfs_yara_scan, my binary throughts
following error:
libguestfs: error: deserialise_yara_detection_list: Success
And function exists with NULL value. As we can see this function is on
lib/yara.c from libguestfs git. I think that these yara functions are an
integration for yara

The iscsi disk has lvm on it, the logical volume groups are visible on
all servers.

names<- bug, and incompatibility with c() (PR#2358)
When assigning names to particular elements of hitherto-unnamed vectors,
there is inconsistent behaviour depending on whether the element being named
is the last one:
test> mm <- 1:3
test> names( mm)[1] <- 'y'
Error in "names<-.default"(*tmp*, value = "y") :
names attribute must be the same length as the vector
test> names( mm)[2] <-
