Building from source on an ARM71 based router
I am trying to build Samba 4.6.4 on an ARM 7 Cortex based router (Netgear R8000), running *DD-WRT v3.0-r31980M kongac (05/11/17)* I'm working with some folks via the DDWRT, but we're running into an issue trying to build from source. I have python 2.7 already installed on the router, and I'm executing the install_with_python.sh script. ./install_with_python.sh /opt/test/samba-4.6.4

Building from source on an ARM71 based router
No, sorry, it's actually failing on "configure" which this script calls. I should have been more clear. ./configured is failing at step: *Checking uname sysname type* It's obviously missing some app/header/library, but reading through all the breakpoints listed in the error (re-pasted below) I can't make out from the code what it's looking for, and the config.log

[LLVMdev] [DragonEgg] Strange call to @"\01__isoc99_fscanf"
Dear all, First of all, Merry Christmas! :) While testing a File I/O sample program, I've encountered a link failure due to missing implementation of "\01__isoc99_fscanf" function. I think this function should be named "__isoc99_fscanf" instead. Please see the program code and LLVM IR generated by DragonEgg and clang below. It shows that clang generates

Samba4 shares slow
Hi there I set up a POC domain with multiple DCs, multiple remote sites and samba shares. This POC is a simulation of a whole samba3 domain migration. Users, and groups have been imported from the older domain to the new one. Here's the setup: ("Remote sites" are actually different subnets on the same location for the POC) *Main Site*: DC1 (RHEL7 - samba 4.6.4) DC2 (RHEL7 -

2nd try: Lots of RPC-related compile errors (conflicting types, too many arguments, ...) trying to update Samba from 3.5 to 4.6
Hello again, Samba experts, sorry for being such a pain in your necks, but I really need to get a recent Samba version to compile, and it looks like I definitely need your help with this. In the meantime, I have found that the huge number of "conflicting types" errors for rpc_*_init(...) is due to the fact that the Samba 4.6.4 codebase seems to have for all RPC modules: NTSTATUS

Boot Failure: GTX 970 & Fedora 24 Kernel 4.6.4-301.fc24.x86_64
I have read several bugs with similar issues on BugZilla concerning 4.6.4 and GTX 970's. I managed a work around by booting to previous kernel release but nouveau wont work with this card. I run two GPUs, so I moved my 760 to primary to at least get a boot, obviously the other screen with this card wont work (just sleeps). I would report this to BugZilla however with the boot failure on

classic upgrade, splitting servers
Debian 4.2.14.. Hmmm. This is why i make the 4.5.x and 4.6.x packages. I suggest, or wait (few hours) and upgrade to my 4.6.4 package or get the 4.5.8 package for my apt now. I'll do the 4.5.10 after the 4.6.4, im moving in office to 4.6.4 due to the many bugfixes ive seen. I'll post on the list when these are ready. Not to long now, if im not typeing here.. ;-) Greetz, Louis

Lots of RPC-related compile errors (conflicting types, too many arguments, ...) trying to update Samba from 3.5 to 4.6
Hello Samba experts, due to the "SambaCry" issue (CVE-2017-7494), I am trying to update the Samba server installation on my Thecus NAS (dating back to 2011) from version 3.5.16 to the current 4.6.4. So far, I have successfully * created a cross-compiling toolchain for the NAS (i686-nptl-linux-gnu) based on gcc-5.2 * compiled Python and Samba library dependencies for my
