yum list "available" versus "updates", and centosplus versioning
quite possibly more a yum question than a centos question, but i'm a
bit confused about the difference between listing "available" packages
versus "updates" packages.
short example -- listing what the yum man page suggests should be
"available" for installation, restricting myself to centosplus:
$ yum list available --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=centosplus

/dev/md1 => 93% Used. Warning. Disk Filling up. - what would be safe to delete in /boot ?
Hello CentOS users,
in the recent time I keep getting the logwatch warnings from my 2 dedicated
servers running CentOS 7.4.1708.
I guess because of the numerous kernel updates (because of
Spectre+Meltdown) in the near past?
Could someone please suggest me, which files in my /boot partition would be
safe to delete?
I would like to avoid the situation of having to boot the rescue partiton
etc.

Synchronising NT and Unix Passwords
Hi,
I've been handed the administration of our Solaris 2.5.1 Server and have recently upgraded to Samba 2.0.5a.
As the server is in a predominantly NTsp3 environment it was requested that when the NT passwords change (each month) the Unix Passwords should also change. All the NT and Win95 Clients are currently authenticating using Plain Text Passwords.
Also the current security level is

C7 Plus Kernel
A new kernel for Centos 7.4.1708 was released several days ago, version 3.10.0-693.17.1. Will there be a matching CentOS Plus kernel?
Thanks for all the effort in providing that.
Also, is there an announce list for Plus updates?

Adjust type of rw in submit_bio from int to unsigned long
Hi, I am a developer who worked on CentOS. Recently I am working on porting one of my
block drivers from CentOS 6.x to CentOS 7.x. In newest kernel (kernel-3.10.0-693.17.1.el7)
I found there is an issue in submit_bio()'s first argument:
void submit_bio(int rw, struct bio *bio)
The type of bi_rw of struct bio is unsigned long, and the number of enum rq_flags_bits
also exceeds 32, so we
