Problem w/ SJava package
Hello, Seems like it is almost working properly. I was able to run examples calling R from Java successfully for the java code below. However, some commands, such as "objects" when not commented out, give me the following error? If you could point me to the correct place to find a solution, I would much appreciate it. I am new to the R community and not sure where is the appropriate

vfs_fruit and extended attributes
It seems not many folks have much to say about this. Here?s an update for anyone in a similar situation: We narrowed down the issue to being with dispersed volumes. When we created a replicated volume, vfs_fruit worked without issue. Ultimately, what we were seeking was performance. Even for our Windows and Linux users, things could be slow. The good news is that we discovered an SMB config

setIs and method dispatch in S4 classes
Dear all, I have a question regarding setIs and method dispatch in S4 classes: Consider the following example: ##################################################### ## A02 "contains" A01 by setIs: setClass("A01", representation(a="numeric",b="numeric")) setClass("A02", representation(a="numeric",d="numeric"))

Long to wide format without time variable
Hi all, I am trying to convert a data set of physician death codings (each individual's cause of death is coded by multiple physicians) from long to wide format, but the "reshape" function doesn't seem to work because it requires a "time" variable to identify the sequence among the repeated observations within individuals. My data set has no order, and different

Byte-wide stores aren't coalesced if interspersed with other stores
Hi, I have, in postres, a piece of IR that, after inlining and constant propagation boils (when cooked on really high heat) down to (also attached for your convenience): source_filename = "pg" target datalayout = "e-m:e-i64:64-f80:128-n8:16:32:64-S128" target triple = "x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" define void @evalexpr_0_0(i8* align 8 noalias, i32* align 8 noalias) {

Constraint in nls with factor in model?
Hi all, I'm trying to fit a model using the shorthand coeff[factor] instead of coding dummy variables. Is there a way to keep this notation when specifying constraints? See example below: x = runif(200) b0 = c(rep(0,100),runif(100)) b1 = 1 fac <- as.factor(rep(c(0,1), each=100)) y = b0+b1*x+rnorm(200,sd=0.05) ## No constraint - works nls(y~b0[fac]+b1*x,

Problem when trying to run Java in R:
Hello All, Although running Java from R used to work, for some mysterious reason, it's stopped. Today when I tried to load a basic JDBC driver (or the sample .jinit()) code, I got: - JavaVM: requested Java version ((null)) not available. Using Java at "" instead. - JavaVM: Failed to load JVM: /bundle/Libraries/libserver.dylib - JavaVM FATAL: Failed to load the jvm library. I

changing a list element's name during execution in lapply - possible?
Happy New Year, all! I want to do calculations on each element of a list l, but i want the returned list element to be named differently after the calculation. Is it possible to do the renaming somehow within the lapply call? l <- list(a=NA, b=NA) lapply(l, function(x) {names(x) <- "new name"; return(x) }) This does not work, any ideas? TIA

Problem After adding Bricks
Hello, I have run into some performance issues after adding bricks to a 3.3.1 volume. Basically I am seeing very high CPU usage and extremely degraded performance. I started a re-balance but stopped it after a couple days. The logs have a lot of entries for split-brain as well as "Non Blocking entrylks failed for". For some of the directories on the client doing an ls will show multiple

Reordering the results from table(cut()) by break argument
I have a vector and need to count how many data points fall inside each bin: dat <- rnorm(100) breaks <- -3:3 table((cut(dat, breaks))) (-3,-2] (-2,-1] (-1,0] (0,1] (1,2] (2,3] 3 13 42 30 12 0 if I reverse the breaks vector, the results remains the same: breaks <- rev(breaks) table((cut(dat, breaks))) (-3,-2] (-2,-1] (-1,0] (0,1] (1,2]

Flattening lists and environments (was: "how to flatten a list to the same level?")
Dear list, I came up with a two functions that flatten arbitrary deeply nested lists (as long as they're named; not tested for unnamed) and environments (see attachment; 'flatten_examples.txt' contains some examples). The paradigm is somewhat similar to that implemented in 'unlist()', yet extends it. I would have very much liked to build upon the superfast functionality

gWidgets / RGtk2 - how to change a handler from a toolbar?
I want to assign a default handler to a toolbar button and change the handler later. The addhandlerclicked() method does not apply to a gAction Object, I think... defHandler <- function(h, ...) print("default") w <- gwindow() aTest <- gaction(label="Test", icon="open", handler=defHandler) tblList = list( test = aTest ) toolBar = gtoolbar(tblList,

how to flatten a list to the same level?
I have a nested list l like: l <- list(A=c(1,2,3), B=c("a", "b")) l <- list(l,l, list(l,l)) I want the list to be unlisted, but not on the lowest level of each "branch". I want the lowest level of each list branch to remain as it is. So unlist or unlist(rec=F) do not work here as the level of nesting may differ on the elements. The result should look like:

modifying the dots argument - how?
Is there a way to modify the dots-argument? Let's consider I have a function that passes on its ... arguments to another function. For some reason I know, that some elements in ... will cause problems. Can I modify the ... structure somehow, e.g. delete elements? foo <- function(...){ innerFoo <- function(...){ } AT THIS POINT I WANT TO MODIFY THE CONTENT OF ... BEFORE IT IS

RGtk2 / gWidgets - addHandlerClicked Problem
In The following code, the table handler is executed twice when the button is pressed (from the 2nd pressing on). I want it to be executed only once. Byte-wide stores aren't coalesced if interspersed with other stores
Andres: FWIW, codegen will do the merge if you turn on global alias analysis for it "-combiner-global-alias-analysis". That said, we should be able to do this merging earlier. -Nirav On Mon, Sep 10, 2018 at 8:33 PM, Andres Freund via llvm-dev < llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: > Hi, > > On 2018-09-10 13:42:21 -0700, Andres Freund wrote: > > I have, in postres,
