KVM guest fails to boot cleanly
I have a KVM vm running CentOS-6.8 on a host also running CentOS-6.8. This instance is used for occasional development projects which require segregation. Thus it is seldom accessed. At some point in the recent past this guest developed an issue with starting. Specifically these messages were found in the system log files: /var/log/messages-20170312:Mar 10 16:31:06 vhost04 kernel: dracut:

Problem with mclapply in package parallel
Dear fellow R users, I am experiencing some problem using function mclapply from recommended R package parallel. This problem is a bit "deep in source code" (maybe r-devel list would be more appropriate ?). This is what is happening to lsusb, too (tries to fetch 549 bytes, gets only 9). and is there anything I can do to fix, short of hoping to receive an updated unbroken firmware for the UPS from a support

Public Folder Problems
Hi, I've been trying to get a Public Folder namespace working, so far without any luck. I've tried in my home folder, outside my home folder, with and without acl. I can see the namespace (PUBLIC) in Roundcube, but that's as far as I get. I've put a .FirstFolder under the location, but it never appears. I've added dirs cur, new, and tmp but no difference. No hints from

kernel 2.6.32-642.15.1.el6.x86_6
Folks, There's some kind of bug here, esp. with this kernel. We've got a cron yum update, and it fails, repeatably, un multiple machines. We reboot to the previous kernel, it comes up, we do a reinstall of the kernel modules, and everything's fine. I was thinking it was with yum, but the admin I work with says it happened today on some with no exlude=kernel\* in yum.conf. My

Very high load
Hi, I am using dovecot 2.0.9 (official CentOS rpm), I am experiencing very high load issue. I think it is something related to my storage (/var/spool is about 3 TB and it is almost full). I noticed those kind of messages in /var/log/maillog: Warning: Maildir: Scanning /var/spool/pop/domains/domain.it/username/Maildir/cur took 100 seconds (14281 readdir()s, 0 rename()s to cur/) Warning:
