Megacli issue with Xen PERC 5/i Poweredge 2950 II
I am having an issue with Megacli when adding or removing virtual
disks. I will post a link to fpaste that has the issue shown.
In brief whenever i add, or remove, a virtual disk via MegaCli the
attempt succeeds and the adapter is configured but the OS remounts dm-0
in read only. dm-0 is my root lv. This issue does not happen if i boot
into the default, non Xen, CentOS kernel. On stock

Broadcom BCM4313 support broken with kernel 2.6.32-573.7.1.el6.centos.plus.x86_64?
Hello,
I noticed that with latest kernel (2.6.32-573.7.1.el6.centos.plus.x86_64),
my laptop's Wifi doesn't work, whereas with previous kernel
(2.6.32-504.30.3.el6.centos.plus.x86_64), it works fine.
Is this a known issue or did I miss something new?
BTW, `lspci` says:
Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)

Kernel Panic post kernel-2.6.32-504.23.4.el6.x86_64
Greetings,
Today, I decided to reboot one of my CentOS machines after it had been
running for 219 days.
In this time, I had done yum updates several times. When I tried rebooting
the machine, none of the kernels would work except for the oldest one.
Here are the installed kernels:
kernel-2.6.32-504.23.4.el6.x86_64
kernel-2.6.32-573.3.1.el6.x86_64

Define ?would not work?. Post a photo of the error message somewhere if you can?t describe it better than that. You might have to turn off rhgb mode to get a useful error message.

Fwd: dm-cache not caching data on 3.18.21-17.el6.x86_64
(I've already sent this to centos-devel almost a week ago but didn't
get any reply.)
I'm evaluating dm-cache on kernels 3.18.21-17.el6.x86_64 (Xen 4) and
2.6.32-573.7.1.el6.x86_64 (KVM). The test I do is a simple sequential
read using dd(1). read_promote_adjustment and sequential_threshold
have been set to 1 and 0, respectively. For the 2.6.32 kernel, all
seems to be working fine,

CentOS6: missing kernel module?
Testing out tipc for cluster development, and running into an immediate snag.
tipcutils was found in EPEL but despite having a "compatible" kernel, it
doesn't seem to actually work.
It's a completely updated system, Intel i5 with 16 GB of RAM, nothing
remarkable.
Any ideas?

R 3.2.2 - make check and install package hang
Hello Everyone,
After trying several ways to compile R 3.2.2 without luck, I?m reaching out for help.
The ?make check? does not hanges for some reason and when
trying to install a package it cannot list the download sites (see below).
What could be the problem?

hostname = test
uname -m = x86_64
uname -r = 2.6.32-573.7.1.el6.x86_64

[R] Free Software Application for UNIX/Linux and Microsoft Windows (PR#1827)
Dear Michael Camann,
My concern was after having a hetero-computing environment for many years, I
found that I had to keep an old version of Microsoft Windows based
applications to be able to interact with my constituents. This at times can
become very expensive. I have had to limit my budget on the UNIX/Linux
platform to compensate for Microsoft Windows based applications.

I enabled notify and mail_log plugins to log the message uid for new

Shorewall and the latest kernel problem
I just installed the latest kernel 2.6.32-573.8.1.el6.x86_64 and when I
rebooted it shorewall (shorewall-4.5.4-1.el6.noarch) failed with the
following error
ERROR: a non-empty masq file requires NAT in your kernel and iptables
/etc/shorewall/masq (line 15)
Question is is this a problem in the kernel or is it a problem in
Shorewall?
Booting the previous kernel allowed shorewall to start
