Re-booting into CentOS-7.2 - advice sought
I have a remote home server updated to CentOS-7.2.1511
(as stated in /etc/redhat-release)
but I have not re-booted since the update.
The machine is currently running kernel 3.10.0-229.11.1.el7.x86_64.
I'm wondering if anyone has advice on any safety steps I can take
before re-booting, so that in the event of failure
I can give simple instructions to my daughter at the other end
on how to get

Issue with python pip install
I am trying to build a Python application installer that is using libguestfs. I using the instructions to create the python package posted at
https://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs/commit/fcbfc4775fa2a44020974073594a745ca420d614
I am getting errors in the compile when I do the "pip install”. I have attached the output from pip. I looked at the code and I do not see anything obvious)

CentOS 7 - Limiting rescue kernel imeges
In order to keep only 3 kernel images on a CentOS 7 I edited /etc/yum.conf and I
put
installonly_limit=3
This parameter works for standard kernel images, but does not work for rescue
images:
$ ls -al /boot/vmlinuz*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 5027376 May 13 20:46
/boot/vmlinuz-0-rescue-2554e2ffad84452bb07401bed0a61089

Crap...I meant to include that. Here's what it looks like when I enable
GSSAPI:
# 2.2.10: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf
# OS: Linux 3.10.0-229.11.1.el7.x86_64 x86_64

CentOS 7 and Glassfish 2.1.1
Hello.
I have a server with CentOS 7 installed, on this server I installed Java
1.7 (java version "1.7.0_80") and Glassfish 2.1.1. The last few days
I've ran into a problem: Glassfish process got killed twice and I don't
have a clue why is getting terminated, I know that sometimes processes
get killed if RAM is not enough; however on this server I have 62GB of
RAM and 10GB

Re: Issue with python pip install
Richard,
Thanks for fast reply - let me remove all the yum packages and then
build/install from single version.
Regards
John

updates from last Saturday
I yum updated last Saturday. It had a new kernel. I hadn't rebooted but saw that firefox update today and did that then rebooted. My system wouldn't boot all the way ?with the new kernel. I went back to 3.10.0-229.7.2.el7.x86_64 and my system would boot. When I boot with the 3.10.0-229.11.x kernel. I noticed some gnome manager stuff. I thought I had the kde desktop installed for

Dovecot and IPA
Hi Ranbir
I've worked with freeIPA a little, but without your doveconf or some other
context information, it is difficult to identify the issue.

My dovecot works fine against Active Directory 2003, but not against AD2008
Fran and/or Matthias,
Could you publish your doveconf -n? I can't get dovecot to authenticate with my
AD. Maybe you have a solution I could try.
What mail client(s) are you using? I assume by "AD 2003/8" You mean SBS2003/8
and are therefore using Outlook?
