built kernel-3.10.0-229.7.2.el7 OK but install fails
Thanks! Up on kernel 3.10.0-229.7.2.el7.centos. Page http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Custom_Kernel specifically states using rpm and not yum for the new kernel install, so perhaps needs that slight revision for 7......Nick G On Thu, Jul 9, 2015 at 5:05 PM, Nicholas Geovanis <nickgeovanis at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi all - > First the boilerplate: > On centos-release.x86_64

updates from last Saturday
I yum updated last Saturday. It had a new kernel. I hadn't rebooted but saw that firefox update today and did that then rebooted. My system wouldn't boot all the way ?with the new kernel. I went back to 3.10.0-229.7.2.el7.x86_64 and my system would boot. When I boot with the 3.10.0-229.11.x kernel. I noticed some gnome manager stuff. I thought I had the kde desktop installed for

Wifi Driver Broadcom BCM4322 not working with Centos 7.2
Hi, I've been using in the past the broadcom wifi card BCM4322 with Centos 7.1 one in the past, with kernel 3.10.0-229.7.2.el7 and driver 6_30_223_248 and it worked well. Now I updated Centos to 7.2 and the driver is not compiling any more under kernel 3.10.0-327.3.1.el7. Neither driver 6_30_223_238 nor 6_30_223_271. Does any body experienced the same issues? Cheers, Roberto Nebot --

CentOS 7 - Limiting rescue kernel imeges
In order to keep only 3 kernel images on a CentOS 7 I edited /etc/yum.conf and I put installonly_limit=3 This parameter works for standard kernel images, but does not work for rescue images: $ ls -al /boot/vmlinuz* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 5027376 May 13 20:46 /boot/vmlinuz-0-rescue-2554e2ffad84452bb07401bed0a61089 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3084288 Jun 27 06:42

Thanks for all the replies. Looking at the specs for the processor it does not seem to have the vmx features in /proc/cpuinfo: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-2-Duo-T6400-Notebook-Processor.35100.0.html and the output from grep -E ?vmx|svm? /proc/cpuinfo is empty. /lib/modules/3.10.0-229.7.2.el7.x86_64/kernel/arch/x86/kvm [keith.roberts at acer-centos kvm]$ ls kvm-amd.ko kvm-intel.ko

Bond & Team: RX dropped packets
Hi all, we are testing CentOS 7 in order to migrate from Scientific Linux 6 / CentOS 6 and we are facing an issue with the network. Trying to configure network with teaming in activebackup mode or also with bonding in mode=1 (active backup as well) we see many RX dropped packets in the bond0 interface (around 10% of the total), 100% RX drops in the backup interface and 0% in the active interface.
