C6 New Kernel 2.6.32-504.12.2 PPTP fail
Hi All, Anyone else seeing this. Just updated to kernel 2.6.32-504.12.2.el6.x86_64 and pptp vpn (invoked via Gnome Network Manager) fails to connect. Boot up the previous 2.6.32-504.8.1.el6.x86_64 and pptp all good. OpenVPN is not affected. Anyone else seeing this. I have log file details if anyone wants those. Don't see it reported elsewhere. Thanks Ken -- This message has been

CentOS 6.6 and webcams
The issue of webcams not working with recent kernels on CentOS 6.6 has come up a number of times on the list. I'm happy to report that the latest kernel (2.6.32-504.8.1) appears to have fixed the problem. The relevant changelog entry is: - [usb] ehci: Fix a regression in the ISO scheduler (Gustavo Duarte) [1162072 1145805] The related CentOS bug report is here:

Memory issue in kernel sctp implementation
Dear all, I'm running into a possible memory issue with the SCTP implementation in CentOS 6, using lksctp-tools. So far I've not seen the problem with other distributions yet. The problem is that whenever a SCTP client connection is initiated to a second host and port at which no SCTP server application is listening The scenario is simple: - call socket() to create a socket. - call

Centos 6.6, apparent xfs corruption
Hi all - After several months of worry-free operation, we received the following kernel messages about an xfs filesystem running under CentOS 6.6. The proximate causes appear to be "Internal error xfs_trans_cancel" and "Corruption of in-memory data detected. Shutting down filesystem". The filesystem is back up, mounted, appears to be working OK underlying a Splunk datastore.

Centos 6.6, apparent xfs corruption
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I think you need to read this from the bottom up: "Corruption of in-memory data detected. Shutting down filesystem" so XFS calls xfs_do_force_shutdown to shut down the filesystem. The call comes from fs/xfs/xfs_trans.c which fails, and so reports "Internal error xfs_trans_cancel". In other words, I would look at the memory

CENTOS 6.6 NUT RPM BUILD ISSUES
Charles, I need so major help with getting development build working and need some assistance. Here are the issues that we are running into: Number 1 change - 2.7.2 no longer has the HAL scripts that 2.6.5 has. I am working on if HAL is actually required on CentOS6.6 with the 2.7.2 code or if they have another way around it. This is code diving which is taking some time. Number 2 change -

Can't create any KVM template due to the error with libguestfs
Hi, I'm using SolusVM control panel to create KVM VPS. Suddenly, I can't make any template on Host-Node. Their build log says the SolusVM can't read the libguestfs in server. Please check here. /scripts/kvmtemplate --mode=prescan --vmid=kvm124 --generation=2 "libguestfs: error: guestfs_launch failed.
