There is also a command line interface for keepass - if you wouldn't mind perl dependency. https://sourceforge.net/projects/kpcli/ -- Marek Blaha <mblaha at redhat.com> Red Hat Czech s.r.o. Password manager for the command line ?
Hi Niki , I use "pass" to manage my password , it's based on gnuPG , you can find more info on the web site => https://www.passwordstore.org/ . For sync you can use Git . Seb. Thanks Alan, now I have access to configmanagement sig part of wiki, but unfortunately I'm not able to edit YUM4 page (which I'll need most): https://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/ConfigManagementSIG/YUM4 Also - can I have a personal homepage set? OwnCloud vs NextCloud
I am planning to install either ownCloud or NextCloud on a CentOS 7 VPS server I control. I have previously used ownCloud on another server but have not updated the host application for quite some time. On this new server, I am not sure which one is the "best" and since I am doing a new install I need to decide which one to use. Looking at the Android apps for these cloud solutions,

CentOS, PHP & OwnCloud/Nextcloud: the version dilemma
Hi, I'm currently experimenting with OwnCloud and Nextcloud on a sandbox CentOS 7 server. I've been using OwnCloud for the last two years for my own purposes on a Slackware server, and I'm quite happy with it. In my humble opinion, every admin who wants to host OwnCloud or Nextcloud on a RHEL/CentOS server is confronted with a version dilemma. 1. CentOS 7 sports PHP 5.4, which has

owncloud on CentOS - I have problems installing/updating recently
Dear Experts, after quite some time of praising ownclowd, I started having problems with installing and updating desktop owncloud-client on CentOS. Namely, yum repository owncloud.org points to for rpm/yum based Linux distributions lives on suse.com site (well, for all flavors of Linux, actually). I remember it smelled fishy for me the first time I installed ownclouud on CentOS using that

Thunderbird vs. Evolution vs. OwnCloud
Hi, I'm currently using Thunderbird synced to OwnCloud on my main workstation running Slackware64 14.1. I just installed CentOS 7 on my Asus S300 laptop. It's running nicely, and I'm spending some time getting acquainted with it. I wonder if I should stick with Thunderbird or go with the default Evolution application, since this seems to be better integrated into the desktop, namely

As I said in a previous post, the EPEL OwnCloud client packages are lagging behind a bit, but so far, the only inconvenience are the nagging update notifications on startup.

PHP 7.x on CentOS 7 : which solution ?
Hi, As you all know, CentOS 7 is shipping PHP 5.4, which is OK in some situations. Unfortunately, some applications like OwnCloud require a more recent version of PHP. Up until recently, I've been using PHP 5.6 packages from the Webtatic repository. Despite the bad press this third party repo seems to have, it has been working perfectly for me for a few years. Here's the PHP 5.6 packages

CentOS 7: changes to php.ini
Hi, I'm hosting a few web apps like OwnCloud, Wordpress and Dolibarr on CentOS 7 that require a handful of changes to php.ini. I have to define some custom values for post_max_size, upload_max_filesize, etc. I don't know if I'm supposed to edit /etc/php.ini directly or if changes should be put in a configuration file stub in /etc/php.d. For example, I followed the recommendations of

KeePassX replacement
I have been using the KeePassX password manager on CentOS 6 and 7 for some time and it works pretty well. On my Windows machine I use KeePass which offers a number of features missing from KeePassX, I also sync the database between several machines, including Android units where I use keepass2android. Database compatibility is thus required. KeePassX, however, does not seem to be maintained any
