adding XCB dependency
I intend to make compiz depend on XCB and Xlib/XCB sometime soon so we
can start using XCB where it's beneficial [1]. I'm mostly interested in
using it for asynchronous reading of window properties but we should
eventually try to use it for as much as possible. Removing Xlib
completely might not make sense as we need to support multiple
implementations of GLX but getting to a stage where

Xorg unbuildable - where to get: x11-xcb?
Greetings,
A fresh install of 7 followed by a cvsup to 7.2-PRE on the 26th
results in an inability to build Xorg on the system. A cvsup only
an hour ago provides no solution.
An attempt at the following:
cd /usr/ports/x11/xorg-minimal
make
produces the following error:

I am going to see if I can find someone in the organization with a Red Hat account to open the bug. In the meantime, I came up with a workaround. I wanted to see if I could role the updates back to CentOS 6.7 since the system was 6.7

virt-manager
so... I've been tinkering with KVM again. my desktop is windows,
the linux server is remote, so I have a ssh X tunnel running, and XMing
running locally, and launch virt-manager. opens fine, shows the VM I
created some time ago. I select that VM (which is running centos 6),
and 'open', a window opens for a few seconds, then blam, virt-manager
exits before I can click on

Xorg problem
I updated to Centos 6.8.
Every thing is working, except Xorg does not startup.
When I look at top, it seems that Xorg keeps trying but not
succeeding to start.
Any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks

Anyone using Asterisk on Slackware 9?
Hi, I am trying to do a very minimal install of Slackware to run Asterisk
on.
Can anyone give me a list of what packages I need to install as I don't want
X an all the associated bloat?
Thanks in advance.
Chris

OpenGL issues on OSX (wine 1.3.21)
I just compiled 1.3.21 on OSX using the osxwinebuilder script. It's the first time I try wine on the Mac.
I've tried some short OpenGL demos and they work, but others fail. Remarkable ones that fail are wxWidgets OpenGL demos (remarkable because the source is available, so I guess it should be easy to fix).
I run OSX 10.6.7.
While running the wxWidgets "penguin" demo, the

Window Scrolling on OSX
I think this has been noted in previous posts by others, but I'm
noticing it with post-version 1 builds of Darwine for OSX and I'm
wondering if there's any way to fix it.
The behavior is hard to describe but here goes: when using either
Irfanview or Forte Agent, mouse activity in the Windows app causes the
window to move downward on the desktop. Each click, the windows jumps

WinXP exhibits sluggish graphics window movement & mouse tracking (repainting?) over windows graphics devices
I just noticed when using 2.6.1, 2.6.2 (2008-02-08), 2.6.2pat

mouse cursor appears to be redrawn more sluggishly when the pointer is
over R windows graphics devices than over the R console window or
other applications' windows. The slowdown seems to start only
