Re: Sr-iov passthrough - no packet arrive to guest
I can see from different post that if working with sr-iov, i should work with vlan Is this an obligation to work with vlan if working with sr-iov? If not according to which parameter will the different vf get the traffic. Let's say i declare max_vfs=7, how will the traffic be seperated between the vm? However till i get an answer i tried to work with vlan And i still don't get

C8 Question
Hi list, I installed on my workstation C8.1 (1911) and performed a minimal install and then installed XFCE from EPEL. I noticed a strange behaviour (don't know if this is the wanted default). If I try ,from normal user shell, to run command like "reboot" or "shutdown -h now" system will reboot/shutdown. This happens on tty console, on xfce terminal and ssh session.

[PATCH] RFC: Linux: disable APERF/MPERF feature in PV kernels
Hi, while testing some APERF/MPERF semantics I discovered that this feature is enabled in Xen Dom0, but is not reliable. The Linux kernel''s scheduler uses this feature if it sees the CPUID bit, leading to costly RDMSR traps (a few 100,000s during a kernel compile) and bogus values due to VCPU migration during the measurement. The attached patch explicitly disables this CPU capability

RPMFusion and NVIDIA driver problem
Hi list, I'm on C8.1 and I'm trying to install NVIDIA driver from rpmfusion-nonfree repository but it returns: ?package kmod-nvidia-3:440.82-2.el8.x86_64 requires kmod-nvidia-4.18.0-147.el8.x86_64 >= 3:440.82-2.el8, but none of the providers can be installed ? - conflicting requests ? - nothing provides kernel < 4.18.0-148.el8 needed by

PAPI + perfctr on CentOS 5?
Has anyone succesfully compiled a PAPI+perfctr-enabled kernel? I've been mixing and matching instructions from the PAPI distribution and those from CentOS wiki to no avail. TIA -- Eduardo Grosclaude Universidad Nacional del Comahue Neuquen, Argentina

kvm: vm root fs becomes ro
I've a the following happen a couple times now, and my internet searches are failing to locate an answer to the problem. We've got a few servers that primarily house VMs using KVM. They've got E-3 cpus and 32 GB RAM, and they run stock CentOS 6.4, fully patched (not yet migrated to 6.5). The VM disk images are housed on an NFS server. None of the VMs is particularly

[CSL #351425] perfctr-enabled C5 kernel anyone?
Hi all: We have a user who needs to do some work with PAPI, which requires the perfctr patch applied to the kernel proper. Before I do that work here, I wanted to ask the list if anyone knows of a repo where such kernels are available? Also, if anyone has gone down this route and has helpful hints, perspectives, horror stories, etc., I would covet that information also. Cheers and Thanks,
