Hello list,
With my latest proftpd server graphical client error on list (ls) directory:
Error: Could not read from socket: ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer

So far I've tried both filezilla and cyberduck.
But command line ftp works completely:

mysql authentication in proftpd
Hello list,
I was able to get passive mode worked out. I'm really glad I was able to do this. I'm able to log into the ftp server, list directories, enter subdirectories and upload/download files. However my next task is to enable virtual users using mysql. I have installed proftpd-mysql and enabled the sql modules in the config.
I found a good article on how to do this here:

Turn of mount point adding?
I'm running dovecot 2.2.5 and would like to completely turn off all
automatic adding of mount points. So var/lib/dovecot/mounts would be
empty essentially.
Is this possible? Somehow dovecot always adds a mount point that does
not exist and was removed a long time ago. I've dove:
doveadm mount add '/my custom path/*' ignore
but it still will add mount points in the

ProFTP -> vsFTP Configuration Options
I am moving from a server from running Red Hat 7.2 (with ProFTP) to Centos 3
(with vsFTP). There is a setting in ProFTP that lets me set the default ftp
login directory for a specific user and I would like to do the same with
vsFTP. The reason being is I have a 'webadmin' user that I use for uploading
web content. I am thinking I could make the home directory of the webadmin

VFSTAB mounting for ProFTPD
I have ProFTPD successfully installed and running, though I would like to virtually mount some directory''s from my ZFS configurations. In a previous ProFTPD install on Ubuntu, I had in my /etc/fstab directory an entry like this:
/HDD ID/directory /home/FTP-shared/information vfat bind 0 0
Though I am not able to do this with my /etc/vfstab. This is my entry in my vfstab config file:

Bug#397466: logcheck-database: proftpd rules do not support IPv6 addresses with UseReverseDNS off
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.49
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
Hi,
with "UseReverseDNS off" in /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf the IP is used instead
of the hostname:
... (::ffff:aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd[::ffff:aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd]) ...
The rules in /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/proftpd do not support colons in
the hostname.
The attached patch fixes this.
Greetings,
Gregor

Bug#437753: logcheck-database: proftpd ignore rule does not match when rhost is IPv6
Package: logcheck-database

It would appear that proftpd is now logging IP addresses in IPv6 form,
even the v4 ones. I got a bunch of these last week:

proftpd wrap
Hi,
My ftpd is being abused.
Maximum login attempts exceeded from hosts:
::ffff:64.251.22.142[::ffff:64.251.22.142] : 24197 Time(s)
I had came across an article stating that proftpd with mod wrap can actually
block these IP using denyhosts.
I had googled but I did not see any proftpd rpm with mod wrap. Is there
anyone with a copy would like to share?
Or can someone share a spec file, so I
