EPEL repository: Failure to download metadata

Does some one have experiences with a similar tool like createrepo, to create metadata stuff for appstream directories? and how do they integrate into the UI? I am just curious and starting diving into this ... thanks! -- LF

hfsplus on C7

Unique3 and Unique3-devel package missing from CentOS 8
These packages were in C7 - dont appear to be in C8 - not even in AppStream. How do I get them? Thanks, Jerry

dbus packages' versions not making sense
I have installed 1.12.8-10.el8_2, but when trying to install dbus-devel it is not available for that version, only 1.12.8-9.el8, which is also not available. Suggestions? # yum list | grep dbus dbus.x86_64 1:1.12.8-10.el8_2 @BaseOS dbus-common.noarch 1:1.12.8-10.el8_2

update from 4.4 to 4.9
I am trying to update i386/686 4.4 to 4.9 I found this: In /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo, comment out the mirrorlist directives and replace with: baseurl=http://vault.centos.org/4.9/os/$basearch Which I did. Odd issue happening CentOS 7
So I have two CentOS 7 machines running. if I am on my server and I do "curl http://192.168.1.8" I get data. If I do "host devgeis.LayeredSolutionsInc.com" I get the correct address 192.168.1.8 if I goto another machine with CentOS 7. I do "curl http://192.168.1.8" I get data. I do "host devgeis.LayeredSolutionsInc.com" I get the correct address

C8 install libreoffice
How do you install libreoffice. yum install libreoffice did not do it, doing a search on "centos 8 install libreoffice" did not provide anything. Thanks Jerry

Hi all, When I am installing I use kickstart and have a line like: repo --name=Updates --baseurl=http://192.168.1.14/centos/5.6/updates/x86_64/ and that works great for installing the OS. After that the machine reboots and I have it automatically go into additional installations running scripts. These installations do "yum install XXX". However, its no longer using my above repo

Hi All, I was following the instructions for installing nodejs version 14. https://github.com/nodesource/distributions First thing was: curl -sL https://rpm.nodesource.com/setup_14.x | bash - After that : yum -y install nodejs ---> Package nodejs.x86_64 2:12.16.2-1nodesource will be installed --> Finished Dependency Resolution You can see its installing the OLD Version 12. not the 14.

small issue with bind
I tried to do a "yum install bind" and it said no packages found I then tried up2date bind and it installed bind for me. Is yum not completely setup correctly? Just thought th yum install bind would have worked also. I am using centos 4.3 x86_64. DNS was not selected as package to install when my system was built. Jerry

yum install openldap-clients error 5.2 to 5.3
