Coping music from tapes
OS: CentOS 5.0 x86.
Hi, I have some old music tapes and a walkman, and want to move the
music to mp3 format. So far I am thinking to use Audacity to record the
music to wavs, and then do not know, somehow I will compress the wavs to
mp3s as vbr 192 Kbps with something.
Has anyone done this? What app did you use for recording the music from
the tapes and what app did you use to make it mp3?

I've upload the preliminary patch against 3.0.23b that will
become 3.0.23c so people can do full testing against what
we hope to be the release code. Note that the reported version
in the patch is 3.0.23c-gwc-1 to prevent confusion from the
final 3.0.23c release.
You can download the gzipped patch file from

Balancing multiple connections and NAT
Hi,
I have a client connected to the ''net through 3 ISP''s. Have set up a
Linux box to do routing and load sharing for the 3 connections. A
fourth interface is connected to the LAN with private IP addresses.
Am using iptables to SNAT traffic to the appropriate IP depending on
the interface the packet gets routed onto. The setup looks something
like this:

Rev #2 of the 3.02.3c patch
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Folks,
I've uploaded the *final* 3.0.23c roll up patch to
http://samba.org/~jerry/patches/patch-3.0.23b-3.0.23c-gwc-2.diffs.gz.
I've already cut the 3.0.23c tarballs so unless there is
a major problem, this will be the final change set.
Please report *any* bugs that you find. I'd like to wrap
this one up and do the public 3.0.23c

disk performance about half in domU? + question about XenSource
Based on some tests we ran, it seems the biggest performance
hit you get from running within domU is from disk I/O. We
did some mysql read and write tests, and for both, our
performance is about half that compared to native. Has that
been others'' experience?
Is there any way to make this better? We are using physical
partitions. In contrast, cpu/memory tests appear to be near

Music on Hold Quality
Does anyone know how to maximize music on hold quality on calls inbound
from PSTN? I know that it is common to have choppy and static sounding
music on hold when connecting via PSTN but how can that be minimized? I
assume that the bitrates, type of music, etc can minimize the effects.
Does anyone have any experience in this area? Do you know where I
should look for more information?

mp3 to wav converter
What is there available for Centos? Now that Audacity is no longer
available to us...
I do have Audacity on an XP system, so I do have the option to shuffle

[PATCH 0/5] KVM: arm64: vcpu preempted check support
From: Zengruan Ye <yezengruan at huawei.com>
This patch set aims to support the vcpu_is_preempted() functionality
under KVM/arm64, which allowing the guest to obtain the vcpu is
currently running or not. This will enhance lock performance on
overcommitted hosts (more runnable vcpus than physical cpus in the
system) as doing busy waits for preempted vcpus will hurt system
performance far
