Bonding Eth interfaces - unexpeceted results
CentOS 6.2.........
Why do the physical interfaces report (correctly) that they're negotiated at 1000Mb/s, but when I `cat /proc/net/bonding/bond0` I get 100Mbps for the member interfaces, and when I ` mii-tool bond0` I get 10Mbps for the bond?

how to make asterisk set cos values
Hi,
examining the network traffic with wireshark shows that asterisk does not set
any QoS values at all.
What do I need to do to make asterisk set QoS values (on Centos 7)?
The wiki says to use vconfig to set QoS values[1]. What does the skb-priority
need to be set to? How do you use vconfig on interfaces that are not VLAN
interfaces?
Is it generally impossible to set QoS values on

DSCP QoS value in YeaLink phone settings
Hello list,
I need to set Voice QoS and SIP QoS for YeaLink. The possible values are
0 ~ 63.
With Grandstream I can fill in DiffServ 46, which is EF. That's what I want.
With Snom I fill in 184, which corresponds to EF or DSCP 46 (according
to their wiki)
But what value do I want to fill in with this YeaLink ???
This is a conversion table :

bonding interface instable
Hi all,
i recently found that some frontend servers (Centos6) show:
kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely up for interface eth2.
kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely down for interface eth2, disabling it
kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely up for interface eth2.
On some days frequently and on others none.
But there is no hw failure or similar.

bonding
I four nodes setup to do active-backup bonding and the drivers loaded
for the bonded network interfaces vary between tg3 and e100. All
interfaces with the e100 driver loaded report errors much like what you
see here:
bonding: bond0: link status definitely down for interface eth2,
disabling it

TOS Settings to DSCP
I am assuming that the TOS values directly map to DSCP values in the ip
header. Is this a correct assumption? If so, can someone tell me the
correct setting to set call control packets with a DSCP of AF31(011010) and
media with EF(101110)? So would the setting for AF be TOS=46?? Is it
possible to mark the media and call control separately??

DSCP marking at core
Hi,
I want to setup core routers to do both DSCP marking
and to get the DSCP and forward packets based on DS
field. I don''t want to separate DSCP marking to be
done only at the edge routers.
I know that dsmark is both used for DSCP marking and
for getting the DSCP and forwarding packets according
to DSCPs. In my case, since I want to do both of these
I need two dsmarks.(?) I am not

bonding problem with arp-monitoring
Hello
I have two linux machines connected via 2 dsl lines (bonded)
192.168.0.1-eth0-dsl---2Mbit---dsl-eth0-192.168.0.2
^-eth1-dsl---2Mbit---dsl-eth1-^
so the final figure is something like this:
192.168.0.1-bond0---4Mbit---bond0-192.168.0.2
I can only use arp monitoring for fail checking - if one dsl line fails -
automatically use only the other one. I set up everything correctly (i

Bonded interfaces - testing
Hi,
I have 2 servers running CentOS 6.3. Each has four 1gb Ethernet ports. I
have bonded all four ports on each server and patched them to the same
switch (following the instructions at
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/BondingInterfaces). I have created
aggregated trunks for the servers respective ports on the switch. The
switch reports that the ports are up and that the Link Aggregation is

bonding driver with arp detection
Hello -
Was wondering if anyone is running the bonding network driver in
active/backup mode using arp_validate?
I'm trying to deal with really crappy network switches from Dell
and I thought I could work around their faults in the short term
by switching from link monitoring to arp monitoring. But I ran
into a situation just now that seems even arp monitoring isn't
enough.

Problem: DSCP target
Hello everybody,
I have tried several iptables versions (from 1.2.4 to 1.2.6a) to
mark outgoing packets (change the DSCP field) with no success.
#iptables -A OUTPUT -t mangle -d 10.0.0.3 -j DSCP --set-dscp 0x2
iptables v1.2.6a: unknown arg ''--set-dscp''
TOS target is working fine, but I want to create different codes

Can't match DSCP CS6 and CS7
Hi,
DSCP match in /tcrules/ doesn''t work with CS6 and CS7, it provides an
error "invalid value" for string and hexa values.
It seems that it comes from /Chain.pm/, in the function /do_dscp/:
fatal_error( "Invalid DSCP ($dscp)" ) unless defined $value && $value < 0x2f && ! ( $value & 1 );
I dont understand why "$value < 0x2f", but

TOS bits, DSCP, Asterisk & Polycom
Has anyone figured this out yet?
Lots of places say to add the following
to sip.conf of an Asterisk 1.2 system
(current production machine/Asterisk as root):
tos=0xB8
(Hex B8 = Decimal 184 = Binary 10111000)
or if you are running Asterisk v1.4 or newer:
tos_sip=cs3 ; Sets TOS for SIP packets.
tos_audio=ef ; Sets TOS for RTP audio packets.
tos_video=af41 ;

Best practice settings for channel bonding interface mode?
Hi,
may be there are some best practice suggestions for the "best mode" for
channel bonding interface?
Or in other words, when should/would I use which mode?
E.g. I do have some fileservers connected to the users lan and to some
ISCSI Storages. Or some Webservers only connected to the LAN. The
switches are all new cisco models.
I've read sone docs (1), (2) and (3) so the theory

Asterisk server and DSCP QOS
Can anyone comment on the DSCP quality of service settings on your
Asterisk server?
The network we're setting up has data on the default VLAN, Asterisk
server and phones on VLAN 4, and we're using Polycom phones with a PC
hooked up to the phone's pass-thru port.
What iptables settings are you using on the Asterisk server for DSCP?
What are your Polycom DSCP settings? We're using
