Philippe,
What's the output with '--allowerasing' switch?
We are experiencing a similar issue, dnf update:

It sounds like you have something installed that doesn't need to be or shouldn't be
installed. Under what circumstances does that message appear? I haven't seen it on any
of my C8 systems,

How to perform an in-place upgrade for libvirt
Hello Experts,
Is it possible to perform an in-place upgrade for libvirt.
Assume, i have a CentOS 8 installation (choose server with GUI) with
libvirt version 4.5.1 and i want to upgrade the libvirt to version
6.0.0, how to implement a perfect replacement for all the related files
(libraries, header files, etc)?
Does anybody here has the experience for this?
Many Thanks!

Missing packages in centos8 mirrors or do I miss something?
Hi,
I need to port OSCAR Cluster and SystemImager softwares to centos8, but I miss a lot of package that seems to be built for centos-8.
For example, I cant find docbook-utils and docbook-utls-pdf while I see them here: https://koji.mbox.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=651
I?ve installed epel-release and elrepo-release and centos-release-stream.
Do I miss something or is it a matter of time

CENTOS8: running wine 32 bits?
All,
I need to run some legacy Windows software (32 bits) under my Linux box.
I have installed wine from the source the 64 bits works fine but not the 32

The ./configure gives

*configure: error: Cannot build a 32-bit program, you need to install
32-bit development libraries.*
and trying to install the require i686 packages results in a

YUM (DNF) Possible Confusion Centos 8
Folks
In a test Centos 8 installation as a guest of VirtualBox on Windows
10, I want to install ffmpeg, and support for exfat. They're not in
the standard distribution (as far as I know), so I issue as root:
yum -y --enablerepo rpmfusion-free-updates install ffmpeg
fuse-exfat exfat-utils
and that works just fine. The ffmpeg functionality works; I haven't
tested exfat yet.
