livemedia-creator --make-pxe-live CentOS 7
I have "issues" with later versions of Centos/RHEL 7 also. PXE boot seems to work, but after the new kernel kexec's, it seems to drop the NICS and further in the process for some reason, the nics never come up, which leads to all kindsof issues of course (trying to boot a cluster that way). I also have the impression that it is a dracut issue, however, I have not pinpointed it

[LLVMdev] LLVM JIT on a Baremetal x86 Machine !!!
Hi James, Thanks again for bearing with me, you have been very helpful. I have got the problem fixed. In fact I needed to override the 'LSeek' implementation of SpecialFile in SpecialModule class as well. The log for the working example is attached, just as a reference. Now one more thing, when the build system creates the ISO9660 CD-ROM Image, it executes the following commands:

[LLVMdev] LLVM JIT on a Baremetal x86 Machine !!!
Hi, First question: "/module" is mapped to a special file that reads a kernel module passed in by the bootloader. Much like GRUB, kiwi's bootloader loads a kernel and can load one or more extra files into memory. These are passed to the kernel. The horizon kernel expects one file, which it makes accessible at "/module". This should be set up to be whatever you set

Booting FreeBSD
Hi, I am trying to create a hybrid ISO image for FreeBSD 9.2 using syslinux 6.01 and isohybrid.pl I found at http://www.overclockix.com/sources/isohybrid.pl (I know there is a C version in syslinux but I haven't been able to build it yet due to the UUID library being different to the one in FreeBSD). According to the wiki mboot.c32 can boot FreeBSD, however I haven't been able to get it

SYSLINUX-3.52-pre5: XP BOOTSEC.BIN Bug
I just encountered my only bug w/ the ISOLINUX+VESAMENU combination from 3.52-pre5. Updated a *working* CD project w/ the new ISOLINUX+VESAMENU combo just last week. Booting my preferred Linux distro (Slax-6) from my custom CDs work perfectly, however when I updated a CD project that includes BartPE/WinPE, BartPE fails to boot w/ 'CDBoot can not boot CD: error 4" msg. how to use livecd-creator to create my own livecd iso as same as offical release iso?
Hello list, I use the livecd-creator to customize my own livecd iso. I use the kickstart config file from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CentOS/sig-core-livemedia/master/kickstarts/centos-7-livecd.cfg. #livecd-creator -v --config centos-7-livecd.cfg --cache /var/cache/livecd finally I got a iso, but the iso is strange. The offical distribution iso is

Custom LiveCD images with CentOS8
Is it at this moment possible to build custom LiveCD images? Are they all necessary tools available in CentOS8? I have never done this and wonder if it is still possible for C8. C7 stuff seems to be here: https://github.com/CentOS/sig-core-livemedia Not quite sure if Fedora howtos can be applied here. Any hints? Thanks, Leon

gpgcheck of rpms / anaconda / kickstart / composer install
Hi all, I wonder if the gpgchecks are done while installing a system via anaconda? Any experts here? I was playing with the livemedia-creator and had a 3rd party repo in my ks file. The packages were installed without any problems although having not any key in the rpm db imported. So that leads me to the assumption that the gpgchecks are not done. How to get the integrity check done?

Boot diskette for install CD
(New to CentOS and just joined the list.) Is there a boot diskette image for the install CD? I want to install CentOS in a classroom that does not have CD boot enabled. I couldn''t find one on the install CD, although it did have a USB flash drive boot image. I''m pretty sure that the machines in the classroom are too old to be able to boot from USB flash drives. (I will check on
