Mock config error
Hi,
I am trying to create a mock configuration file that points to my local dnf repo.
I have the following in the mock config template:
[local-repo]
name=my-Local
baseurl=http://yumrepo.example.com/yum-repository/local/centos/8/x86_64/
failovermethod=priority
skip_if_unavailable=False
When I try to run mock I get the following error:

CentOS 8: several packages have unresolved dependencies after "dnf update all "
All,
While updating my package using dnf update all I allow dnf to clean some
package with unresolved dependencies.
I would like to reinstall some of them but got an error message "but none
of the providers can be installed" during the install process as dnf is
trying to install the dependencies.
.
This happens for some critical package like boost-openmpi-devel (see

CENTOS8: running wine 32 bits?
All,
I need to run some legacy Windows software (32 bits) under my Linux box.
I have installed wine from the source the 64 bits works fine but not the 32
bits.
The ./configure gives
...
*checking whether gcc -m32 works... no*
*configure: error: Cannot build a 32-bit program, you need to install
32-bit development libraries.*
and trying to install the require i686 packages results in a

CENTOS8: running wine 32 bits?
Hi Philippe,
To get wine-32 to work on CentOS 7.6 I had to build and install wine 1.8.4 from a tarball.
Follow the instructions at: https://wiki.winehq.org/Building_Wine
and build the 64-bit version first, then the 32-bit version.
Before building either version I installed the following X11 devel pkgs from yum:
libX11-devel.i686
libxcb-devel.i686
libXext-devel.i686
Depending on your setup

where are all the Redhat 8 -devel packages?
I'm probably missing something really simple.
I've installed an RH8 IAM in AWS and I'm trying to build packages on it.
I've noticed there are many *-devel packages that I cannot install:

[ec2-user at site1-vpn ~]$ sudo yum install trousers-devel

Unable to execute Java MapReduce (Hadoop) code from R using rJava
Hi All,
I have written a Java MapReduce code that runs on Hadoop. My intention is
to create an R package which will call the Java code and execute the job.
Hence, I have written a similar R function. But when I call this function
from R terminal, the Hadoop job is not running. Its just printing few lines
of warning messages and does nothing further. Here is the execution
scenario:

CentOS 8 LSI SAS2004 Driver
Hello,
I've recently been given domain over a number of supermicro storage
servers using Broadcom / LSI SAS2004 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-2
[Spitfire] (rev 03) to run a bunch of SSDs. I was attempting to do fresh
installs of CentOS 8 and have come to find out that RedHat deprecated
support for a number of HBAs for 8 including all running the SAS2004 chip.
Does anyone know if there is a

Dear Miguel Esteva,
I couldn't get a Red Hat "ubi9" container to install enough
dependencies to build R. Is there a way to reproduce your setup on a
virtual machine somewhere?
