I've run into this behavior for a while, for several CentOS versions,
depending upon the application.

kvm: C8 as guest on C6 host / huge delay while booting
Since C8.1 kvm guests have a huge delay while booting on a kvm host
based on C6. This delay was not present with C8.0. The "pause" happend
direct after the grub step. The VNC session shows only a "_" character.
Any ideas what changes?

kickstart compat C7 -> C8
Hi all,
I still use the following kickstart partition scheme for C7 installations (via virt-install):
Briefly, fixed size for /root and /boot, and the rest is filled up for /srv.
The same kickstart (despite that c7 uses vda, f29 uses sda) doesn't work with Fedora29 (EL8).
I get a "device is too small for new format" error. Any hints?

DND Issues in Gnome (GTK3 regression)
Does someone uses EL8 as a workstation (GUI) here?
This bug is super annoying
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1808900
and it seems not to get addressed in the current branch.
How could a developer work with a forced delay in the UI (since a year
now). Solution maybe in 8.3 ETA end of the year?
Seems that all RH employees uses OSX as workstation (my impression of
the summit) :-)

As I understand it, it is a protocol, and not a device.
Several Linux distributions have long defaulted to it, so we already should

C8 updates stucked?
Hi folks, I do see some updates coming in for RHEL8.1 and wonder why
some are not coming into current C8 (latency already included)? Are
there any staging? Koji shows such packages as finished/complete...

Wayland Display Support in R Plot
Hello,
I'm interested in understanding the current state of Wayland display support in R plot, and I was wondering if any progress or discussions have taken place regarding this matter.
As Wayland continues to gain popularity as a display protocol on modern Linux systems, having Wayland support for R's plotting capabilities would be a significant enhancement.
Could anyone provide

C8 regression / tmp on tmpfs
Does someone have a working tmp on tmpfs via
systemctl enable tmp.mount
under CentOS8/RHEL8? This seems to work straight in EL7 ...
# LANG=C systemctl enable tmp.mount
The unit files have no installation config (WantedBy, RequiredBy, Also,
Alias
settings in the [Install] section, and DefaultInstance for template units).
This means they are not meant to be enabled using systemctl.

Corosync on a home network
I've been trying to build a model cluster using three virtual machines
on my home server. Each VM boots off its own dedicated partition
(CentOS 7.3). One partition is designated to be the common /home
partition for the VMs, (on the real machine it will mount as /cluster).
I'm intending to run GFS2 on the shared partition, so I need to
configure DLM and corosync. That's where I'm

I also noticed this:

which is concerning. Until now, I've retained X11 on Fedora because of difficulties in screen sharing via zoom in Wayland sessions.
