Alternate gstreamer1 for CentOS 8
Hi All - is there an alternate gstreamer1 for CentOS 8 ?
Two reasons why I need it.
1) OpenH264 support
2) VAAPI support
Both don;t seem present.
Thanks

MP4/H.264 codec for Firefox?
Hello,
I am trying to get MP4/H.264 playback in Firefox to work on my CentOS
laptop (for vimeo).
I installed the gstreamer plugins as described here:
https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/MultimediaOnCentOS7
(No, I did not install Flash, VLC and all the other stuff. I only want
HTML5 MP4 playback..)
I enabled the nux repos. I did install all available gstreamer plugins,
i.e. -good -bad

CentOS 7 and gstreamer1 rtsp-server
I am playing with gstreamer on CentOS 7.1 .
All the packages are there except gst-rtsp-server....
OK - So I went to look for it to compile it. Found a version
that was NOT 1.0.7 and my compile stopped because it said the
versions are not the same.... OK
so went back to look for 1.0.7 and its not there.
I looked at:
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/src/gst-rtsp-server
Any thoughts on how I

C6 firefox esr h.264 support on youtube
I was able to get h.264 support on www.youtube.com/html5 on fedora 21 by
installing
gstreamer1-libav
but that package does not exist in C6 (or it's popular third party repos)
What is the name of the package which adds h.264 to firefox on
youtube/html5 in C6?

CentOS 7.2 - no GUI login after upgrade
After installing and enabling the centos-release-cr repo on my CentOS 7.1
laptop; I ran yum clean all and yum update. Yum complained about gstreamer1
dependencies that is caused by epel repo; therefore, I excluded it from the
epel repo and run yum update one more time and it went through.
After the update was completed I rebooted the laptop and I will just get
the splash screen but will never get

Help me, where to find layout/language settings
Hi,
At the moment I am working at a live system. But default language of
isolinux is, of course, English.
In fact, this CD is for educational use in Germany, so it should be
completely in German.
Is there any possibility to configure language/kerboard-layout in the
isolinux folder? I don't mean at runtime, but at buildtime.
Thanks for your answers,
Lucas Clemente

My understanding, which may be incorrect, was that the firefox in EL6 wasn't
built with gstreamer support, so adding that library isn't sufficient.

You *need* to upgrade the gstreamer libraries or you break gnome (which breaks
gdm). Uninstall whatever is clashing from epel, upgrade gstreamer, all will
be well.
