Custom desktop menu entries: weird behavior with menu categories
Hi,
For my client's desktops, I'm usually customizing the various Linux
desktops I'm installing. I'm using custom icon themes (Elementary),
custom system fonts (Droid Sans), and one of the things I also customize
are desktop menu entries.
Here's an example of what I do on a Slackware+Xfce-based desktop, so you
get the idea. Once all applications are installed, I run the

How to replace application icon?
I've installed Tournament Indicator (poker hand analyser) but instead of the normal program icon, it has assumed the wine default wineglass icon. I know the location of the icon....so how do I assign that icon to the desktop?

xdgurl
Has anyone figured out how to make Firefox 45.4.0 on CentOS 6 use xdgurl
to handle xdg:// URLs?
Google is full of suggestions that don't work. When I select a an
xdg:// link I don't get a dialog asking me what to do like Google says I
will. Instead I get a message that says Firefox doesn't have a clue how
to handle this URL. Do you want to try again?
I tried about:config

Minimized Firefox is not visible on panel in CentOS 5.2
Hi,
I opened a Firefox on Desktop, but when I clicked Minimize Window
button, the Firefox disappeared and there was no icon on the panel, I
simply could not find it any more (it did not close), this was the
same for the terminal as well . How can I make the Firefox icon
visible on panel (or workplaces) even it was minimized?
Thank you.

Thunderbird package chrome icon
Hello,
Since starting to use the Thunderbird package provided through the
CentOS yum repos (currently using thunderbird-1.5.0.9-0.1.el4.centos4),
my co-worker and I have noticed that we no longer have a Thunderbird
icon in the title bar of any of the Thunderbird application windows. I
was able to fix this by creating the directory
/usr/lib/thunderbird-1.5.0.9/chrome/icons/default/ and

Centos 7: Remove Gnome from GDM options
When you click on the gear icon on the GDM login screen, it provides a list of the available desktop environments so you can pick between them.
Since I exclusively use Mate on this computer, how can I remove the other options from that menu? Earlier today when I logged in the machine decided on its own that what I really wanted was Gnome Classic, so I had to log out to change it back to Mate,

[PATCH] inspect: fix icon of RHEL
Use a better icon for RHEL guests, still provided by redhat-logos (or
equivalent in downstream distributions), and which fits a better
definition of logo for the distribution.
Thanks to Ray Strode for the hints.

[PATCH] inspect: get icon of Gentoo guests
The icon is installed by x11-themes/gentoo-artwork, which is not
installed by default (and most probably only on "desktop"
installations), although it's the best hit so far...
