C8 Questions
Hi all, I've several questions about C8. I'm using 8 on my personal NAS and works very well. I'm running several VMs with centos 8 and noticed something: 1) Why corosync, pacemaker and pcs are missing on C8? They are only available on rhel with payments( rhel ha addons)? 2) Why there is only Gnome as available DE? I use centos on my workstation and I'm a kde-plasma user. XFCE

lynx on 4.8-stable
I recently installed 4.8-stable. When running lynx, I can only access sites outside my LAN by launching lynx as root. I can't access external sites if I launch lynx using sudo or after su-ing to root. I've searched archives and googled, and haven't found anything on this. It happened immediately after the upgrade, before any post-installation configuration, i.e. before setting up

lynx only shows : FRAME: wlmframe
Hello, when I log in through ssh to a remote site and open the web interface from a ( new ) printer using Lynx, it only displays : FRAME: wlmframe I suspect this is some unfriendly coding, that will cost me time in opening Firefox instead of Lynx or w3m. Does anybody know of a way around this? Greetings, Johan -- Johan Vermeulen IT-medewerker Caw De Kempen johan.vermeulen at

Dear Ubunutu R users, Vincent Goulet and myself would like to announce the availability of R 2.11.0 for Ubuntu's latest release, Lucid Lynx. The packages should be on or arriving soon to your favorite mirror. R 2.11.0 packages also exist on CRAN for all Ubuntu releases going back to hardy. File access in Apache 2.4 (clarification)
Folks I'm having file-access problems in Apache 2.4 under Centos 7. In particular: - I have a file that's readable to every user and every application, (writeable by only one user), but my CGI scripts cannot read it. - Some of my CGI scripts need temporary storage for some files. They are, for example, some internal log files, tnat get cleaned up over time, but I want to be able to

Annoying license at install
Folks I have several remotely-located servers, donated by folks not all of whom are computer geeks, let-alone Linux aware. In earlier versions of Centos, I directed them to perform a minimal NetInstall (not too difficult to direct over the phone), and then issue two commands after the first boot. One was a 'curl' to download a script of mine, and the second was a dot-command to run

what writes to /root/.cache/mesa ?
Dear All, I have several CentOS 7 machines (but not all of them) on which I have noticed that something gets written to /root/.cache/mesa every so often (once every several days). It is my understanding that mesa is related to GUI (X11), but on these machines (on neither of my machines, actually) root never logs in to GUI X11. I may have remote root logins with Xforwarding though. Hence my

CVE-2016-5195 “DirtyCOW”: Critical Linux Kernel Flaw

(Yes, me too, I do have a couple, thank goodness, the rest are already not ;-) Have a productive weekend, everybody. Valeri
