What about Mate Desktop on Centos 8?
According to Twitter:
https://mobile.twitter.com/CentOSProject/status/1173652996305170432
"The next version of #CentOS is being released September 24 and will be announced in all the usual places."
I'm wondering about the status of the Mate Desktop.
Looking under M here:

Ailing MATE desktop
I need some C8 troubleshooting help with MATE.
I'm building a ZFS storage server with a SuperMicro H11SSL motherboard,
EPYC 7232 CPU, and 32 GB ECC SDRAM. I installed CentOS 8.1.1911 from
the iso as soon as it was released. I'm using the on-board ASPEED VGA
video. I installed MATE v1.22 from
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/stenstorp/MATE/. The following
packages are installed:

With the new initiative CentOS and Fedora Stream, wouldn't it be easier
collaborate with Fedora SIGs to bring an updated version of Mate to
CentOS

CentOS 7 (I *think* it's 7.3.) Alas!, I didn't think to specify NOT Gnome,
in thunder. So of course I got it.
I've tried several times to force myself to accommodate Gnome3,
always with no joy. How do I get Mate or Xfce instead?
Related problem: when I become root and tell it "yum update," it
