Install tunctl on CetnOS 7 ?
EPEL doesn't have uml_utilities and NUX doesn't have tunctl.

Install tunctl on CetnOS 7 ?

It looks like uml_utilities, which is where it is in CentOS6 EPEL and Fedora, isn?t built on CentOS7?s EPEL. It looks like the Nux repo has a ?tunctl? package though.

where is tunctl
I am following directions in
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/KVM#head-c02a0b33e7949b0bc3b151ac6e0bdfb91b6bbd1c
it says do yum install bridge-utils - works fine,
they yum install tunctl does not find anything.
yum provides "*/tunctl" does not find anything
I am using 5.4 x86_64.
Is this howto out of date?
How do I get tunctl?
Thanks,
Jerry

openvpn client and KDE Network Manager - with CentOS7
Hi All,
I am switching from Fedora20 to CentOS7 since I now run all my Linux
development in a VM and I get a more robust feature set (i.e. shared
folders with the host that "just work", etc)
The only issue I have thus far is VPN connections. Looking at what's
installed on my old Fedora install I suspect I need these packages:
kde-plasma-nm-vpnc
kde-plasma-nm-openvpn

Note: NetworkManager is in CentOS6 too, and is part of the default
workstation install. The NM in CentOS7 is a bit more polished than

Cyrus 2.4 and Centos6
Hi Folks,
I'd like to install cyrus-imapd 2.4 in CentOS6.
Found rpm cyrus 2.4 for CentOS6 on rpmseek.
cyrus-imapd-2.4.17-30.1.x86_64.rpm
But there are conflicts with postfix 2.6.6.
Can I ignore this conflicts or is there a suitable version of ppstfix
available?
Thx

HOWTO Stratum 1 NTP server under CentOS 7
Alexander,
First off, CentOS7 came with cronyd. Which was very annoying
because when I tried to remove it, it had 2 prereqs:
anaconda
initial-setup
Now, I don't know why the setup program kept these
2 around. I think CentOS7 needs a bit growing up.
Anyway, I disabled chrony:
systemctl disable time-sync
systemctl stop time-sync
Then I installed ntp. However, when I started it
it seems that

AFAIK, nothing that's supported. There's the tool available here:
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
... but it can leave your system in a broken state.

Gnome weather applet stranded
The Gnome weather report applet has ceased working on CentOS5/6. http://weather.noaa.gov/ says "This service is no longer available". Are there any good alternatives? I liked the applet as it allowed the use of a custom radar map.
As I just discovered, the weather functionality of the CentOS6 Gnome clock applet was using the same service.

controlling VM access to different tap devices
Sorry if this off-topic but I have a qemu related question I was going
to send to the qemu users mailing list but that list appears to have
vanished. I thought this community might have some insight.
I am interested in controlling VM access to different tap devices so I
want to have different qemu processes bound to different tun devices.
I've created new tun devices (eg. /dev/net/tun_low)

C7 systemd and network configuration
Hi all,
I used to manage network through /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-*
Most of my use case are vlans (ie: eth0.1) an aliases (ie: eth1:3)
My context in headless VMs (no DE, no Xorg, no GUI)
With CentOS7 and systemd: is it still managed with
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-* ?
For the mount component, I found that systemd kind of "sources"
/etc/fstab and converts it to

I can't find any evidence it was ever in RHEL or CentOS. It looks
like it's in the Nux Desktop repo and the Repoforge repo for EL5 and 6 and
Nux for EL7.

Unfortunately, with that philosophy but not much systems management
experience, you end up with custom-compiled and local installs of PHP
that
