[PATCH] Add in-kernel backlight control support
Several nvidia-based systems don't support backlight control via the standard ACPI control mechanisms. Instead, it's necessary for the driver to modify the backlight control registers directly. This patch adds support for determining whether the registers appear to be in use, and if so registers a kernel backlight device to control them. The backlight can then be controlled via

[PATCH v4 1/2] nouveau/bl: Assign different names to interfaces
Currently, every backlight interface created by Nouveau uses the same name, nv_backlight. This leads to a sysfs warning as it tries to create an already existing folder. This patch adds a incremented number to the name, but keeps the initial name as nv_backlight, to avoid possibly breaking userspace; the second interface will be named nv_backlight1, and so on. permissions when moving mails
Hi! I am using Unix groups to control access to shared mailboxes. This works fine as long as files are not moved between mailboxes that are owned by different groups. The move operation doesn't change group ownership of the mail. Is there a way to force dovecot to e.g. inherit the ownership from the parent folder, not only for new messages bot also for messages moved from one folder to

userdb namespace settings bug
Hi! Since upgrading to 2.1.6, setting namespaces via environment variables using a imap-postlogin-script *sometimes* doesn't work. Sometimes, the prefix of a namespace isn't set correctly, but is set to an empty string, which leads to the following error: namespace configuration error: Duplicate namespace prefix: "" However, the environment is set correctly, the error seems to

Turning off a notebook's screen
My notebook is an HP Compaq nc4010 running current Centos 5.0 with the Gnome desktop. I have been having problems with my notebook's screen never really going off. I lock my screen and the backlight stays on. I push the close monitor button, or even close the unit, the backlight turns off for maybe 10 seconds then turns back on. Actually I just did a test again, and when I push the
