retrieve machine password in current Samba?
We have a wireless network that uses 802.1x authentication, in which domain joined computers use their machine credentials to connect. Windows machines do this automatically, and until recently Linux computers could join using wicd, wpa-supplicant, and a simple script that would retrieve the machine password with tdbdump. ( specifically tdbdump -k SECRETS/MACHINE_PASSWORD/DOMAIN

HP printer can't access samba share
Hi, I have an HP printer that can do Direct Digital Filing to a windows share. I've verified that this works for a real windows box, but it fails to connect to my samba server on linux with this error: [2008/02/23 10:53:52, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(1191) 192.168.2.6 (192.168.2.6) couldn't find service

AMI potential memory leak
We are communicating with Asterisk via AMI. Running Asterisk version 13.18.5 on an Ubuntu box. If you look at the event response, the Result field is filled with random characters. I'm not sure what to do because that is a completely random result. It makes no sense. We send the following command to asterisk via AMI Action: AGI ActionID: C44415 Channel: SIP/192.168.40.105-00001338

Unable to browse Samba share by hostname from certain clients...
Dear Help, I am having a very odd problem. For some reason, I am able to browse to my Samba share by IP address but not by host name from Windows 2008 servers in a particular domain (the same domain the Samba server belongs to). However, I am able to browse by host name from XP clients as well as Windows 2008 servers in a different domain. Even stranger, if I add an alias (using the netbios

AMI potential memory leak
HI Matt, I am trying to replicate this particular problem. We are seeing more frequently where the Event: AsyncAGIExec is never being sent. The two scenarios I have seen in tests yesterday and today... We sendl an AMI action. For example, play a short file or hangup. AMI Events will indicate it did the work, but we never receive the Event: AsyncAGIExec with a result at all. Asterisk debug

3.0.1rc2 LDAP - problems joining domain
Hi, I'm back on the list ;-) I seem to be having some trouble getting W2K machines to join the domain in 3.0.1rc2. I haven't looked at this in detail since 2.2.8a but it looks like the account gets created in LDAP and then it has trouble setting the password appropriately. I believe this is the relevant part of the log: api_rpcTNP: samr op 0x3a - api_rpcTNP: rpc command:

dataframe selection using a multi-value key
I am merging two dataframes using a relational key (incident number and incident year), but not all the records match up. I want to be able to review only the records that cannot be merged for each individual dataframe (essentially trying to select records from one dataframe using a multi-value relational key from the other dataframe). The following code shows what I am trying to do. The final

technical low-end possibilities of xgl?
Hello. I know this is off topic but sorry I cannot google out where xgl people discuss things (don't find an xgl mailing list) nor documents about this. Currently xgl supports modern ATI/Nvidia cards, is there any reason why older cards are not supported? Is it because old cards are not powerful enough, or is it because xgl is using some new 3D technologies? (OpenGL 2.0?) How about cards

But I don't know what type the graph is. It looks like a sactter plot but has the points with the same y values are seperate.. I really aprreciate it if someone can tell

help - Theora/Vorbis/Ogg, ogmmerge and ffmpeg2theora
Hi, I'm probably being fairly stupid. But I did the following, starting with the following two files: # tcprobe -i vts_01.m2v [tcprobe] MPEG elementary stream (ES) [tcprobe] summary for vts_01.m2v, (*) = not default, 0 = not detected import frame size: -g 720x576 [720x576] aspect ratio: 16:9 (*) frame rate: -f 25.000 [25.000] frc=3 # tcprobe -i vts_01.m2a

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
So, strangely, I have two _identical_ dualproc xeon mobos (same bios/ipmi versions, they even share an enclosure, one is right side, other is left), each with different cpu/memory: Using 4.9.13 with vcpu limited to 4, early in the boot process, the one that _was_ booting before setting the xen vcpu args says: "[ 7.060720] smpboot: Max logical packages: 2", and the other one says

The problem on joining a computer running FreeBSD(v5.4) to a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain using samba3.
Hi, I encountered a problem when I joined a FreeBSD machine to a windows = 2003 AD domain. I passed following steps successfully: 1.#net ads join =A8CUAdministrator =20 2.#wbinfo =A8Cu 3.#wbinfo =A8Cg But when I check: #id Domain\\username (I can find this username using command = =A1=B0wbinfo =A8Cu=A1=B1) Id Domain\\username: no such user =20 I found: After restarting samba, there

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
Just to note, the same pattern happens on C7: "CentOS Linux, with Xen hypervisor" = reboot "CentOS Linux (4.9.20-26.el7.x86_64) 7 (Core)" = boot [root at XXX ~]# uname -a Linux XXX 4.9.20-25.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Mar 31 08:53:28 CDT 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 On Tue, Apr 18, 2017 at 8:36 AM, PJ Welsh <pjwelsh at gmail.com> wrote: > There was a note that the non-Xen
