LSI Logic MegaRAID 8480 Storage controller
I have LSI Logic MegaRAID 8480 Storage controller I am having trouble reconfigure one of the hardware raid devices It is configured with 4 hardware raid logical volumes on /dev/sda /dev/sdb /dev/sdc /dev/sdd. I am in the middle of rebuilding the system, ?and at this point I am only using one of the volumes, /dev/sda /dev/sda, /dev/sdb, and /dev/sdd are all 2 drive raid1 mirrors I will be

Software RAID Level 1, smartd and changing dev numbers
We have about 50 CentOS servers with software RAID level 1 (mirroring). Each week, we swap out one of the drives (the one in the second of four hot-swap bays, only the first two of which contain drives) on each server and take them offsite for safekeeping. The problem is, the kernel seemingly randomly switches between /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc for these devices. This makes the process slower by

Replacing failed software RAID drive
CentOS release 4.5 Hi All: First of all I will admit to being spoiled by my MegaRAID SCSI RAID controllers. When a drive fails on one of them I just replace the drive and carry on with out having to do anything else. I now find myself in the situation where I have a failed drive on a non-MegaRAID controller, specifically an Adaptec 29160 SCSI controller. The system is an Acer G700 with 8

Slow RAID resync
OK todays problem. I have a HP N54L Microserver running centos 6.5. In this box I have a 3x2TB disk raid 5 array, which I am in the process of extending to a 4x2TB raid 5 array. I've added the new disk --> mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdb And grown the array --> mdadm --grow /dev/md0 --raid-devices=4 Now the problem the resync speed is v slow, it refuses to rise above 5MB, in general

slightly off-topic, RAID program for on-board SAS 2308-4i ?
On 2/16/2016 3:23 PM, Zube wrote: > Does anyone know what program can be used to query the RAID status > from the OS for an on-board LSI SAS 2308-4i? the 2308 isn't actually a megaraid, its a simple SAS HBA that has an optional raid mode IF its flashed with IR firmware... this only supports raid 0/1/10. I always(!) flash these with the IT firmware that turns them back into a

Hello, I have a server working on centos 5.7-64 minimal installation. I have 3 separate physical drives: 120 gb ssd, 2x 3tb disks for storage. Semi-OT: LSI raid card sorta....
I've got a box running C7, just updated (yesterday). It had an onboard RAID controller, and an HBA. I just installed a new, additional RAID card, all LSI. MegaCli64 only sees one controller. I can't seem to find the magic to see the others. I *know* the new card is a MegaRAID - the box it came in says so. The system sees it 1:00.0 RAID bus controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1078

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
I did some additional testing - I stopped Kafka on the host, and kicked off a disk check, and it ran at the expected speed overnight. I started kafka this morning, and the raid check's speed immediately dropped down to ~2000K/Sec. I then enabled the write-back cache on the drives (hdparm -W1 /dev/sd*). The raid check is now running between 100000K/Sec and 200000K/Sec, and has been for several

I installed a fresh copy of Debian 4.0 and Xen 3.1.0 SMP PAE from the binaries. I had a few issues getting fully virtualized guests up and running, but finally managed to figure everything out. How to enable my RAID again
Hi I have setup software RAID two years ago using FC3 using the graphical installer (RAID1). In the mean time I installed CENTOS4.5 and everything is running fine. At least that was my perception. It now turns out that raid is not working and that LVS just finds 4 partitions from four disks and that's it.: /dev/sda2 VolGroup00 lvm2 a- 94.88G 0 /dev/sdb1 VolGroup00 lvm2 a-
