Forefox on C7 - uses wrong program to view download folder
I've got a C7 laptop using the default repo's (installed plus epel). My firefox has decided to use the wrong program to view the downloads folder. If I download and save a file, then click on the Downloads icon and click on view folder containing the file, it opens the MP3 editor EasyTag instead of Dolphin or Konquror. How do I change it back.

How do I default to "Folder View" in my custom KDE user profile?
Hi, I'm currently busy tweaking KDE 4.14 on CentOS 7 to my needs. I want to use it as a base for an enterprise class desktop. In my humble opinion, CentOS' default KDE configuration is not very usable, so I created a default user profile that looks more like what openSUSE looked like a few years back. Here's the little script I'm using to install the various configuration files

Buttons too big in Firefox for Linux
Mozilla probably (finally) made the adjustment for 2160 lines of resolution. LOTS of softwares need[ed] to tweak their interfaces to be usable on 4k displays. gwenview WITHOUT nepomuk
Does anyone know how to make gwenview *not* try to use nepomuk? I liked it under 5.x, but in 6.x it *constantly* complains about things like tagging is not enabled... but won't open, when I log in, with gwenview running and showing the same picture I'd logged out on. Then there are the random crashes.... Don't need a "semantic" desktop, I know what things are, where they

HP laptops with CentOS 7?
Hi yeah, it's just a normal USB dongle, and it's supported by the Linux Kernel, that's why I tried it. I have tried other USB dongles with Linux before and failed. This one was plug and play. yum install fails - itertoolsmodule.so
Hi Paddy, I was suspecting the same, and from the output below I think you're right. However, I was hoping I could just repair this problem for now, and worry about replacing the HDD later. I need to resume some services that also seem to generate this same error. Gary [root at zeppo services]# ll /usr/lib64/python2.7/lib-dynload/itertoolsmodule.so -rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 61976 Sep 15

Fedora 14, Samba and connection problems - passwords
I have just replaced an old FC9 server with a new FC14 server as the old one died. Before it died I was having trouble authenticating connections to it. Now I have the new server running I'm still suffering the same problem. Setting up a user and setting the password gives no errors, but then connections fail complaining about the password. It is very much a virgin vanilla setup. All I

Weird update problem
For some time now updates on my CentOS box had skipped exiv2. Yesterday I decided to do something about it, so I removed it - together with gwenview, digikam and, IIRC, libexiv2. That sounded reasonable, so I accepted the removal, then re-installed gwenview and digikam, which, of course, pulled in the two exiv2 packages. The version number of exiv2 sounded familiar, but I assumed that it
