CUPS issues
We've got this huge HP DesignJet Z9 printer, for printing posters. Except... I got the latest hplips installed, it knows this printer... but there are no poster-sized settings. Now, I've started hacking the .ppd, as I did six year ago for the old poster printer, but it seems, after a good bit of googling, that it would be easier, when I hit print from okular, and get the dialog window, to

Printers, aka an old time sysadmin
Well, today, I feel like a real, old time sysadmin. Now, I didn't have to write a driver in assembly for the printer, but.... We got this huge, 44" HP Designjet z3200ps printer. Only supports Win and Mac. Fine, I hang it off of one of our servers on a subnet (at $0.96/foot paper, we're the only ones who print on it....). Then I'm thinking that all I really need is a .ppd. My

HP z3200ps printer ppd
Now that we've got the thing, does anyone know what ppd I can use for it? I've seen someone recommending: - the generic postscript ppd; - the hplips driver. I also see ppd's for a DesignJet 800ps, and ones for the 5000ps and 5500ps. Has anyone had any experience with any of these? mark

CUPS driver for an HP LJ M602?
We just got two of these HP LJ M602 "enterprise" printers in, and I'm trying to work out what driver/ppd. The model's not listed in the current - does anyone know what might work for it? I really don't want to have to install hplips on 140 or 150 systems.... mark

Fwd: Re: Using rpcclient to install printer drivers
Hi all, This is a re-post of a question I originally submitted 10/22. There have been no responses, so I am trying again as this problem has us stalled in our tracks re managing printer drivers with rpcclient. >>I am getting a fatal Signal 11 event when I use >>install_printer_drivers.pl on AIX 4.3.3 with Samba 2.2.1a so I would like >>to bring you up to date on my

Fwd: Re: Using rpcclient to install printer drivers
Hi Jerry Carter and list members, The post below was rejected by the list moderator as too big. That cost me four days and now I am really anxious for positive feedback from rpcclient experts either in the field or at samba.org. It was too big because I included a listing of STDERR and STDOUT from setting debug level to 10 in step #4 of install_printer_drivers.pl. I have trimmed it down by

CentOS 7 + HPLIP = blank page
Hi, I just installed CentOS 7 + KDE on a new workstation in my office. I tried to setup my printer, but the test page is blank. Here's some details. The printer is an HP OfficeJet 8600 Pro. It works perfectly with all other desktop clients running Slackware Linux and HPLIP. I installed hplip and hplip-gui, launched HP Toolbox and then setup the printer - a network printer - which is mainly

Different Printer Model for different Arch
Here is a problem I posted to HP's forum on the DesignJet drivers for the 755cm, but something tells me someone clever here has already hacked around this or a similar printer and might know how to solve my problem: --- When installing drivers on a remote Samba server (ie. Windows NT emulation, and perhaps real NT as well), you are able to install printer drivers for a printer for various

Request for hplip upgrade
My wife purchased an HP Deskjet F340 all-in-one printer last year. CentOS 5 includes hplip-1.6.7. I need at least hplip-2.7.10 which I have had to install via tarball. Is there any plans to update this package soon? Thanks -- Bob Taylor

IMPRINTS: mkprintpkg.pl unable to expand microsoft cab file
Jerry, Perhaps you could help me with a problem building a Samba print package. I've downloaded the drivers files I need from HP. I run the appropriate mkprintpkg.pl command, but it dies with the following output: [root@tux designjet]# /usr/local/imprints/bin/mkprintpkg.pl --name="hp1050c" --version=1.00 --display-name="HP DesignJet 1050c" -d "HP DesignJet 1050C
