Hi All I have just finished a re-install of a box that was previously working fine under 4.7. The problem is that the matrox drm kernel module is failinf to initialise correctly. :from the dmesg: FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE #0: Thu May 8 11:41:26 SAST 2003 root@shagrat.prv.moria.org:/usr/src/sys/compile/SHAGRAT48 Timecounter "i8254" frequency 1193182 Hz CPU: Intel Pentium III

maximum number of characters in APPEND
There is a maximum of 255 characters of parameters you can pass to the kernel. At least that's what I recall, but I may be wrong. -----Original Message----- From: Roberto De Leo [mailto:deleo at unica.it] Sent: Thursday, October 03, 2002 5:19 PM To: syslinux at zytor.com Subject: [syslinux] maximum number of characters in APPEND Hi, I wonder whether there is a maximum number of

This email is off topic. If it offends you then suck it :-) But seriously, I know this will interest USA readers (unfortunately for now primarily on the west coast only). How cool is this concept http://techshop.ws/index.html Cheers, Dean ________________________________ From: Dean Collins Sent: Sunday, 3 August 2008 7:53 PM To: 'newtech-1 at meetup.com' Subject: TechShop

Triple- or Quad-display single-card graphics solutions
So, after some discussion of our new control workstations, we are iterating in on a solution; we are looking at a 1U short-depth SuperMicro SuperServer 5017R-MF with a graphics card in the PCI-Ex16 expansion slot. However, the display requirements have increased to 3 or more monitors for future expansion, so I was wondering whether anyone had any experience with triple- or quad-display single card

Framebuffer support in dom0
Greetings! I have installed xen-4.0 with kernel 2.6.32 on a gentoo box. Everything works perfectly, except one tiny detail. I do not have X installed on the machine, so I configured the (old, non-xen) kernel to use a framebuffer, so that I don''t have to cope with the ugly 80x25 resolution, especially on a 19" display. Unfortunately, with the xen kernel, dom0 now uses the 80x25 mode

matrox rt.x100
Hi, I got a Matrox RT.X100 Pro capture card to make a live video streaming with it. The concert to be streamed will be on Saturday... I have a Linux-based server running Icecast 2.3, so I need to make this computer with the Matrox card to work with the Icecast server. I'd prefer Ogg Theora. Unfortunately there's no Linux support for this card, so the only choice I have is Windows XP.

Xen w/ Matrox Parhelia - cpu_callout_map
I''ve been attempting to use my machine with a Matrox Parhelia card with the Fedora Core 6 Xen kernel. The Matrox card requires a kernel module. The module builds without error, but fails to load due to an unknown symbol, "cpu_callout_map". I submitted this issue to the Unofficial Matrox Technical Support Forum, but haven''t been able to resolve anything yet:

KDE Dying Overnight After Centos 7 Upgrade
On two blades both with Atom Processors but different Graphics chips (a Matrox WPCM450 on one, Intel 82945Gon the other). One machine had distorted video and required logging out of KDE and then back again. The other one had no video and required ssh from another box to restart X remotely (which I didn't think I should be able to do). Does anyone else see problems with KDE ( or X) after the

Hi, Can someone please help me with this? I have just upgraded from 4.7 to 4.8-STABLE and this is what I am getting when I try a tape backup. Please CC as I am not in the list. It was working well before the upgrade (dump -0ua -f - / | gzip -c -9 | dd of=/dev/nsa0). Thank you, Lefteris Tsintjelis Jul 3 22:55:18 ene /kernel:

4 monitors with one graphics card and standard driver
I've just test an ATI FirePro 2460 graphics card on CentOS 6.4. It connects 4 monitors. It worked with the standard radeon driver. I was able to arrange the monitors into my preferred configuration (as a square array, 1 upper left, 2 lower left, 3 lower right, 4 upper right) simply by clicking System -> Preferences -> Display, and then moving the four monitor images. This creates the

Help with multi-monitor Xorg stuff
I have an unusual use case. I wonder if anyone can help. We use a PC with 8 HDMI outputs for powering a video wall in an operations centre. We use two Matrox video cards, each with 4 outputs. "lspci" reports these cards as" [AMD/ATI] Cape Verde PRO [FirePro W600]". On an older version of CentOS 7, I used the proprietary AMD/ATI driver. This had a utility (I roorget the name)
