Updating 7.5->7.6
I've got a user with a legacy NVidia card. I've got kmod-nvidia. Last time I did an update, all I did was yum update --disableexcludes. This time, it fails, with Error: Package: nvidia-x11-drv-304xx-304.135-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64 (@elrepo) Requires: xorg-x11-server-Xorg <= 1.19.99 Removing: xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.19.5-5.el7.x86_64 (@base)

conflicts in updating to CR repo
Note, first of all I haven't actually updated, I'm just running "yum update" to see what conflicts, if any, I get so I can be prepared when the final 7.7 release happens. I've traditionally used the nvidia packages from elrepo, but recently enabled rpmfusion (back when I started using 7.x, I disabled rpmfusion because it took them a looooong time to get a EL7 repository up).

Everyone, On August 2, my desktop unit updated with kmod-nvidia-430.40-1.el7_6.elrepo.x86_64nnn which broke yum having a multiple of dependencies not being present. I uninstall kmod- dvidia with the hopes that a fresh install would fix the provlem, but it did not. nvidia-detect returns : kmod-nvidia An Intel display controller was also detected I was hoping that this was a repository problem

Yum refuses to install kmod-8188eu from elrepo
I am having trouble using the realtek wifi chip in my new tp-link usb wifi dongle. Upon plugging it, the device gets registered by the kernel (in /var/log/messages), but that's about it, no network device is being created (iwconfig does not see it, nothing else works). A few google searches later I found out that this realtek chip is not supported by the kernel and requires a driver, and that

C7.6 Update problem
Hi list, today I tried to update my centos workstation (7.6.1810). My problem concerns kmod-nvidia update. Nvidia driver where installed by elrepo. During running yum update I get: kmod-nvidia.x86_64 430.40-2.el7_7.elrepo elrepo and I also get several statements like this: Errore: Pacchetto: kmod-nvidia-430.40-2.el7_7.elrepo.x86_64 (elrepo) Richiede:

CentOS update broke Samba
Running CentOS Linux release 7.7.1908. Have Samba running as our fileserver on our (mostly) Windows network. Ran my "normal" yum updates today, and Samba was upgraded (last updates were on 8/10/2019). I was on 4.8.3 before; now it's 4.9.1: Updated samba-4.8.3-6.el7_6.x86_64 @updates Updated samba-client-4.8.3-6.el7_6.x86_64

Latest kernel crashes X and gnome
Hi, Anyone else having problems with kernel 3.10.0-957.5.1.el7.x86_64? After my yum update today a reboot hung. A quick look at the Xorg.0.log shows two of my graphics cards appear to be working okay but the third one (I have two nvidia cards with a monitor each and then use the inbuilt intel one for the third monitor) gives: <cut> [??? 14.246] (II) Loading sub module "fb"
