Updating 7.5->7.6
I've got a user with a legacy NVidia card. I've got kmod-nvidia. Last time I did an update, all I did was yum update --disableexcludes. This time, it fails, with Error: Package: nvidia-x11-drv-304xx-304.135-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64 (@elrepo) Requires: xorg-x11-server-Xorg <= 1.19.99 Removing: xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.19.5-5.el7.x86_64 (@base)

I am install C7.5 on a nvidia unit and nvidia-detect tells me to use kmod-nvidia-390xx so I do the yum install and and after a long time I see this -> Processing Dependency: kernel(__drm_atomic_helper_crtc_duplicate_state) = 0xa5f3a170 for package: kmod-nvidia-390xx-390.87-2.el7_6.elrepo.x86_64 --> Processing Dependency: kernel(__drm_atomic_helper_crtc_destroy_state) = 0x00a9c70b for

when I do yum update, elrepo offers kmod-nvifdia, but yum does this: --> Processing Dependency: kernel(sme_me_mask) = 0x17fbce60 for package: kmod-nvidia-390.48-2.el7_5.elrepo.x86_64 --> Processing Dependency: kernel(reservation_object_add_excl_fence) = 0xea98efc0 for package: kmod-nvidia-390.48-2.el7_5.elrepo.x86_64 --> Processing Dependency: kernel(drm_vblank_init) = 0xdcd50a49 for

Yum refuses to install kmod-8188eu from elrepo
I am having trouble using the realtek wifi chip in my new tp-link usb wifi dongle. Upon plugging it, the device gets registered by the kernel (in /var/log/messages), but that's about it, no network device is being created (iwconfig does not see it, nothing else works). A few google searches later I found out that this realtek chip is not supported by the kernel and requires a driver, and that

conflicts in updating to CR repo
Note, first of all I haven't actually updated, I'm just running "yum update" to see what conflicts, if any, I get so I can be prepared when the final 7.7 release happens. I've traditionally used the nvidia packages from elrepo, but recently enabled rpmfusion (back when I started using 7.x, I disabled rpmfusion because it took them a looooong time to get a EL7 repository up).

Everyone, On August 2, my desktop unit updated with kmod-nvidia-430.40-1.el7_6.elrepo.x86_64nnn which broke yum having a multiple of dependencies not being present. I uninstall kmod- dvidia with the hopes that a fresh install would fix the provlem, but it did not. nvidia-detect returns : kmod-nvidia An Intel display controller was also detected I was hoping that this was a repository problem

C7.6 Update problem
Hi list, today I tried to update my centos workstation (7.6.1810). My problem concerns kmod-nvidia update. Nvidia driver where installed by elrepo. During running yum update I get: kmod-nvidia.x86_64 430.40-2.el7_7.elrepo elrepo and I also get several statements like this: Errore: Pacchetto: kmod-nvidia-430.40-2.el7_7.elrepo.x86_64 (elrepo) Richiede:

Centos7 broken after update
I've launch a "yum update" while I was going to lunch. 1 hour later the system was completely freezed (no mouse, no keyboard, screen black, no network). I try a hard reboot => kernel panic on the new kernel I boot on the old kernel => boot hangs with gnome-shell failure. SSH was OK so I remove the new kernel and re-install gnome shell. Reboot is ok but now the computer
