C7.6 Update problem
Hi list,
today I tried to update my centos workstation (7.6.1810).
My problem concerns kmod-nvidia update. Nvidia driver where installed by
elrepo.
During running yum update I get:
kmod-nvidia.x86_64 430.40-2.el7_7.elrepo
elrepo
and I also get several statements like this:
Errore: Pacchetto: kmod-nvidia-430.40-2.el7_7.elrepo.x86_64 (elrepo)

Fresh install C7 nvidia
I am install C7.5 on a nvidia unit and nvidia-detect tells me to use

so I do the yum install and and after a long time I see this

ZFS on Linux repository
Hi list,
we all know why ZFS is not included in RHEL/CentOS distributions: its
CDDL license is/seems not compatible with GPL license.
I'm not a layer, and I do not have any strong opinion on the matter.
However, as a sysadmin, I found ZFS to be extremely useful, especially
considering BTRFS sad state. I would *really* love to have ZFS on Linux
more intergrated with current CentOS.

upgrade to 7.4 ZFS issue
Hi all,
I have a server running 7.3 using the zfs-kmod packages from zfsonlinux.org.
For the update to 7.4, I followed https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs/wiki/RHEL-&-CentOS: removal of all zfs - and related packages and installation of
the zfs-release.7.4.noarch.rpm
Afterwards, yum will find almost all packages from that repository - except for the zfs-0.7.1-1.el7_4.x86_64.rpm itself

New C7 kernel ABI and kmods
All,
This is just a heads-up that the new C7 update kernel breaks ABI
compatibility, at least as far as using the ELrepo nVidia drivers is
concerned. I have posted more details to the ELrepo list; but since
many folks use the Elrepo kmods I thought a heads-up would be appropriate.
If you use the ELrepo nvidia kmod you will either need to hold off on
the kernel update or uninstall the nvidia

xorg updates hose GUI with Nvidia driver
Just a heads up that once again an xorg update has removed the link in
/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions that points to libglx.so.325.15 in
/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia thus breaking X. This should
only effect those with nvidia proprietary driver. One of the following
packages is the culprit but I have not tried to narrow it down. I have
done updates and downgrades several

nvidia on 7.6
I have elrepo installed. rpm -qa | grep elrepo gives
elrepo-release-7.0.3.el7.elrepo.noarch
nvidia detect (which installed) tells me kmod-nvidia-340xx
when I do yum install kmod-nvidia-340xx it is saying no package
kmod-nvidia-340xx available ?
What did I miss? Thanks,

Semi-OT: hardware: NVidia proprietary driver, C7.4
Hi, folks,
Well, still more fun (for values of fun approaching zero):
1. Went to install CUDA 9.0... well, gee, there is *no* CUDA 9.0.
Even though I installed the 9 repo, all that I get is 8. I've
used their webform, and an waiting on a reply.
2. I remove all nvidia packages.
3. It appears that the kmod-nvidia is what I need; that's what

Latest 6.2 kernel is broken
I just kickstarted a new machine with the latest CentOS 6.2 files, including
kernel 2.6.32-220.13.1.el6.x86_64. It came up without network interfaces.
dmesg says:

XFS might be available for i686 from the CentOS Plus repository.
Hi,
the topic is an excerpt of the 5.4 release notes
and raises a question.
I have a i386 server here, that has been running for nearly two years
with xfs module from extras repo.
When lookin at the module it was build against 2.6.18-92.1.13.el5.
Question is, is it still safe to use this module with 5.4?
Or should I switch back to a CentosPlus kmod and an older kernel?
