CentOS 7, NM, and IPv6
Hi, folks, I and the other admin here have just been assigned a mission... here's what's happening: only very recently - the last week? our CentOS 7 boxes, or at least some of them, will lose their IPv6 addresses, and not get it back. 1. We're running dibbler on the same box that serves DHCP. 2. It's been working for many months. 3. The lease file remains in place.

CentOS 7, NetworkMangler, and ipv6
We've started having a problem with a CentOS 7 server. It looses its IPv6 address, if I understand this issue correctly. We can get in, if we do ssh -4, though. In the logs, I'm seeing this about twice an hour: <warn> (pid 98466) unhandled DHCP event for interface ens3f0 Now, in googling, I get very few hits putting quotes around "unhanded dhcp exception" - in fact, the

C7, NetworkMangler, and IPv6
Hi, folks, Freshly built box... but does not get its IPv6 address. Gets its IPv4 with no trouble, and if I *manually* run dhclient -v -N eno1, it gets the correct IPv6, but after that, nope. And INITIPV^=yes in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eno1. I even tried adding NETWORKING_IPV6=yes to an otherwise empty /etc/sysconfig/network. What am I missing? mark

Speaking of firefox updates
I haven't gone past 38, because when the 45 update came out, and video... like, say, my *required* training from work, when I tried to run it, it crashed firefox. Repeatedly. 100% of the time. Has anyone been using the current version had trouble with video, etc? I'd like to update, but not if I can't do required training.... mark

Speaking of firefox...
The latest version seems to have a bug. One of my users went to look at a paper in Phy Rev E, and the firefox pdf view looked fine... but what printed had garbage for scales on the graphs. Then I had him use the firefox print preview... and it was garbage. Looked at it on my system, ditto, and firefox was updated yesterday on all our systems. Save as (why isn't there an "open"?) a

C 7 and gssproxy
Ok, folks, I brought this up some time ago, and got no replies. We have a good number of systems - > 100 - and we use sssd. On the C 7 boxen, which is most of them, gssproxy *frequently* (like once a day or so) dies with a SEGV. It restarts fine. Dies again eventually. ARE other people seeing this? If so, I guess we get to file a bug report with upstream. Speaking as an old C

IPv6 broken on Linode
https://forum.linode.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=14570&p=72785 I can not figure out what I need to do. Apparently according to linode support, the VM is trying to grab an IPv6 address with some privacy stuff enabled by default causing it to not grab the IPv6 address that is assigned to me. Nothing I have tried seems to work, and it seems that Linode support are far more familiar with

Wireless problem
Hi folks I just installed Centos 5.5. I heard about the new changes in wifi support. I tried a USB wifi card from Netgear, and It works fine. It didn't en Centos 5.4, so that's great news. The problem is I have a Linksys WUSB54GC USB wifi card and I want to make it work. I get this messages in /var/log/messages as soon as I plug it in. Oct 14 22:56:20 lila kernel: usb 1-1: USB

How to convert /etc/machine-id into a default-duid for IPv6 static DHCP?
Hi, The use-case is deploying C7 VMs with a pre-set machine-id and default-duid based on the machine-id to facilitate static DHCP with IPv6. The default-duid is found in dhclient6-<value>-eth0.lease and IPv6 DHCP uses default-duid like IPv4 DHCP uses MAC addresses for static DHCP. How does one convert /etc/machine-id to a default-duid (in bash)? 1) /etc/machine-id -> DUID: <read
