I have a recent Dell Inspiron laptop on which I installed CentOS 7. I have, however, failed somewhere since I do not have a hibernate option when shutting down, only a suspend option. I believe I created the necessary hibernation partition large enough for the RAM the machine has, 16 Gb if I remember correctly. How do I identify where the problem lies?

Since the Ubuntu 17.10 that I'm running now has Linux 4.12, there should be some support for my card, yet I still experience the same phenomenon. If I DO NOT use `nomodeset`, I see the boot log shooting through and then blank. I can tell that it is not a system halt, because I can ctrl-alt-delete and the OS catches that and safely reboots. It is the official Ubuntu 4.12.0-11-generic, x86_64.

I ordered and just received today a new Dell Inspiron 640m laptop (it also goes by the name E1405). Anyone tried installing CentOS on this laptop? It's the wireless drivers I'm most concerned about; it's got the Dell 1390 internal wireless card (not the Intel wireless). Hi, i just installed CentOS 7.2 on my little "server" but i get a black screen during boot. It is a Asrock Am1h-itx mainboard with an AMD 5350 CPU (onboard graphic). I created a raid 6 but i dont think thats the problem, as the boot process goes pretty far. I would even say its going until X should start, but it is a server install, so i guess there is no X. Can someone tell me what
