Centos 8 and xfs_quota
Folks I'm trying to use xfs_quota to keep track of disk space usage for my users. The documentation states that I should specify "uquota" as an option on the mount data in /etc/fstab. Yet, I cannot find the entry in fstab that corresponds to the Logical Volume that ends up being mounted on /home1. The system in question was installed on a single disk system. Later, after

disk quotas + centos 5,5 +xfs
Hi all, is any one aware quotas not working in 5,5? I'm using XFS as a file system. My fstab has the appropriate usrquota, grpquota but when I try to run; quotacheck -cug /foo I get; quotacheck: Can't find filesystem to check or filesystem not mounted with quota option. I already have a large amount of data in the mount. Do quotas get implemented on only empty filesystems and

XFS quotas not working at all (seemingly)
Hi All, I have a very strange problem that I'm unable to pinpoint at the moment. For some reason I am simply unable to get xfs_quotas to report correctly on a freshly installed, fully patched CentOS 6 box. I have specified all the same options as on another machine which *is* reporting quota LABEL=TEST /exports/TEST xfs inode64,nobarrier,delaylog,usrquota,grpquota 0 0 xfs_quota -xc

xfs and user quota
Hi, I try to enable userquota an a new xfs filesystem. Its centos 6.5, the filesystem is mounted with usrquota, the server was rebooted. I thought xfs_quota -x -c 'limit bsoft=20000m bhard=22000m username' /home would set the quota for that user. But I do get an error: Command limit not found. Did I miss something? Any hints/how to beside the official sgi xfs and redhat doc

quota on xfs on lvm doesn't work(?)
Hi, I have a strange problem with user quotas enabled on a xfs filesystem and samba 3.0.21c: When a standard block device (e.g. /dev/sdc1) is used for the fs, quota works like expected: /dev/sdc1 on /mnt/tmp type xfs (rw,usrquota) output from level quota:10 debug: [2006/04/19 14:38:48, 10] lib/sysquotas.c:sys_get_quota(394) sys_get_quota() uid(4004, 4004) [2006/04/19 14:38:48, 10]

xfs quota weirdness
Hi all, I have a quota problem with xfs (xfsprogs 3.1.7+b1 on debian GNU/Linux 7 -- wheezy) and samba-4.1.19. If I set a user quota to say 10GB, windows explorer reports a 20GB quota of which none used. If I change quota to x, windows explorer reports 2x space of which none used. So I assume samba is somehow getting (albeit incomplete and incorrect) xfs quota info from operating system. disks

fail to display xfs quotas instead of smbcquotas on Win clients
Hi Samba 3.6.3 on Ubuntu. Filesystem is xfs, grpquota and usrquota are enabled. root at host:# repquota /mntpoint displays the correct data (see below). In smb.conf I defined max protocol = SMB2. When running smbcquotas //host/share -L I'm getting displayed a value of 16GB for every user share. This is the value that is displayed on the windows 7 boxes when looking at the network shares in

Quota (and disk usage) is incorrectly reported on nfs client mounting XFS filesystem
hi all, I hope you can help me with a strange quota/nfs/XFS behavior... I'm using Centos 5.6 on both a nfs server and client. Both are 64-bit, and using a recent kernel: NFS server: Linux fs2.priv 2.6.18-238.12.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue May 31 13:22:04 EDT 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux NFS client: Linux nx8.priv 2.6.18-238.12.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue May 31 13:22:04 EDT 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64

[PATCH 9-10/10] Quota support for disabling sparse feature
Hi, I'm sending a patch for proper quota support when disabling sparse feature. The second patch fixes a minor problem in tunefs.ocfs2 when disabling the sparse feature. In a few days I plan to resend the whole "quota support" series with all the changes people request included... Honza

Group-based filesystem quota
Hello. After using Dovecot for over a year, I have just started experimenting with the filesystem quotas, and I have a suggestion for improvement. On my mail server, I use group-based quotas, and would like to have Dovecot be able to report these quotas. It should be simple to implement, requiring only changes to the quota-fs.c file of the quota plugin. Simply changing USRQUOTA to

quota problem
Hi All, While I was experimenting with the quotas I changed the following line in the /etc/fstab : LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1 (BEFORE) LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults, userquotas 1 1 (AFTER) Now, I cannot write anything to the /, nor I cannot change any of the files including /etc/fstab I am using RedHat 7.3. When I look at the file permissions I see that I have
