Why Point-Stereo at 160 kbps ?
Hi there ! I checked Vorbis' performace for mono files at approx. 64-80 kbps (it does a good job) and I'm wondering why the current OggEnc still uses Point-Stereo (>10kHz) for -q4 and -q5 I know, we're usually unable to percieve those phase correlations above 10 kHz, But a Dolby Prologic Decoder isn't. I think a future version of OggEnc which is able to use a user-selectable

Can Speex frame size be expand from 160 to 320 for NB?
Hi Jean-Marc, I want to know the possibility of expanding frame size from 160 to 320 for narrow band. What is the side-effect if do so? How many changes involved for the current code? Thanks ahead. Can Speex frame size be expand from 160 to 320 for NB?
Thank you so much for your quick reply. It looks quite easy to change it. But, how about those codebook and excite table? I notice them have been fixed as the length of 160. Can Speex frame size be expand from 160 to 320 for NB?
Thanks Jean-Marc. I do want to change Speex frame size to 320. In this case, I've changed frame size in init and modes (include framesize and subframesize). However, the audio quality becomes bad. It seems something else needs to be changed as well. Could you give a clue? Thanks, Dennis -----Original Message----- From: Jean-Marc Valin [mailto:jean-marc.valin@usherbrooke.ca] Sent:

core dump (PR#160)
Here is the output from gdb for one of my numerous reproducible core dumps. Unfortunately, I cannot send the R code because it involves a lot of data setting up and a special order of calling my ehr function in my event library. Note that I am using 63.3 and not calling any of my own C or Fortran. Jim GNU gdb 4.17.0.4 with Linux/x86 hardware watchpoint and FPU support Copyright 1998 Free Software

160 analogue phones..
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to connect 160 analogue phones to an asterisk PBX? Background information: A client wishes to replace their current PBX with a new VoIP system. Currently they have 2 PRIs. I intent to set up 2 asterisk PBXs with Debian GNU/Linux on raided drives. These drives will be mounted only read-only to recover gracefully from power-cycles. [PATCH 4.5 160/200] x86/mm/kmmio: Fix mmiotrace for hugepages
4.5-stable review patch. If anyone has any objections, please let me know. ------------------ From: Karol Herbst <nouveau at karolherbst.de> commit cfa52c0cfa4d727aa3e457bf29aeff296c528a08 upstream. Because Linux might use bigger pages than the 4K pages to handle those mmio ioremaps, the kmmio code shouldn't rely on the pade id as it currently does. Using the memory address instead
