Crash when embedding R X11 windows
Dear R developers,
I've been experimenting with embedding R X11 windows into another application
using KDE's QXEmbed on linux. Attempting to do so will crash R (with R 2.4.0,
trunk, and I know the bug has been around in prior versions). I used to think
this was related to bug #848, but I'm not sure, if / how the solution
suggested there still applies to current versions of R.

Cross compiling with Qt and MinGW for Linux
Hello
I installed qt-win-opensource-4.0.1-mingw in Wine. I copied all dll's into system32 directory, and
mingw10.dll too (because qt need it). Then i compiled a simple "Hello World!" with Qt dlls using
MinGW for linux. I have no problem with cross compiling (0 errors & 0 warnings).
But when i run the app, wineserver & wine-preloader eat 90% of RAM and CPU and show only

Countvariable for id by date
Best R-users,
Here’s a newbie question. I have tried to find an answer to this via help and the “ave(x,factor(),FUN=function(y) rank (z,tie=’first’)”-function, but without success.
I have a dataframe (~8000 observations, registerdata) with four columns: id, dg1, dg2 and date(YYYY-MM-DD) of interest:
id;dg1;dg2;date;
1;F28;;1997-11-04;

HPLIP 3.9.2
on Centos 5.2
2.6.18-92.1.22.el5.centos.plus
Has anyone gotten HPLIP 3.9.2 to work? If so what was done
about python-dbus and PyQt4-dbus? They don't seem to included
after installing PyQt4-4.4, sip 4.4.5, and hplip 3.9.2.
thanks,

tcltk resizing when using tkgrid for layout
I've been able to figure out on my own how to do what I need in the
largely undocumented tcltk package, but I've finally hit a wall. I can't
even think of any sufficiently specific search terms to use for this.
I'm trying to make the widgets in my tk window resize when the window is
resized by clicking and dragging on its corners or edges. Instead they
stay exactly where they

With the new initiative CentOS and Fedora Stream, wouldn't it be easier
collaborate with Fedora SIGs to bring an updated version of Mate to

Disable auto window maximize
Job #1 for me with CentOS 7 is to disable the automatic window maximization.
Some googling found this command:
$ gsettings set org.gnome.mutter auto-maximize false
No such schema 'org.gnome.mutter'
and this:
$ gsettings set orh.gnome.shell.overrides edge-tiling false
but that had no visible effect.
I couldn't find anything under Applications->documentation and I didn't see

Upcoming structural changes to compiz core - HEADS UP
Hi Everyone,
I'm going to make some big structural cleanups to core which is likely
to affect everyone here, but I believe is for the better, so I am
posting this mail now to get some feedback and make sure that we don't
tread on anyone's toes when I merge all of this stuff.

I too am a solid fan of MATE. F28 had v1.16. F30 has the latest v1.22.
Is there any reason I should not try the latest? Perhaps some
dependencies not available in C8?
