CentOS 7.5 gui login root only
I have seen similar issues when user shell profiles like .bash_profile or .bashrc has some errors. Are users invoking other shells from their default shell ? this usually breaks X11 start-up scripts. openvpn client and KDE Network Manager - with CentOS7
Hi All, I am switching from Fedora20 to CentOS7 since I now run all my Linux development in a VM and I get a more robust feature set (i.e. shared folders with the host that "just work", etc) The only issue I have thus far is VPN connections. Looking at what's installed on my old Fedora install I suspect I need these packages: kde-plasma-nm-vpnc kde-plasma-nm-openvpn

Trying again: KDE fails with a gray screen after login, can't reinstall
I set for graphical mode, I get the login screen, I change to KDE, and the screen goes black, then after minutes, gray with a cursor, and that's it - I left it overnight, no change. Brand new install (as of yesterday). Missed any "agree to license", and missed choosing software. Manually groupinstalled Installed Environment Groups: KDE Plasma Workspaces Development and

How to reference or sort rownames in a data frame
As I was working through elementary examples, I was using dataset "plasma" of package "HSAUR". In performing a logistic regression of the data, and making the diagnostic plots (R-2.5.0) data(plasma, package='HSAUR') plasma_1<- glm(ESR ~ fibrinogen * globulin, data=plasma, family=binomial()) layout(matrix(1:4,nrow=2)) plot(plasma_1) I find that data points

kde 4.3 beta 2, compiz 8.2 - panel pager doesn't work until plasma crash and restart
Listmates, Woking with compiz 8.2 on kde 4.3 beta 2 on Archlinux, the plasma "kicker" pager widget does not work correctly after compiz 8.2 is started. Before compiz is started you see the 4 small desktop representations stacked 2x2. After you start compiz, the panel only shows a single large pane 'Desktop 1' no matter what desktop you are on. The strange part is that

Plasma problem with numeric keypad
Hi list, I'm running CentOS 8.2 with Plasma from EPEL and I noticed that I have problem using numeric keypad of my keyboard when using plasma application like Konsole, Kcalc, Konqueror and all application of Plasma. Using Firefox, Thunderbird, xterm, Libreoffice all works as expected. So this problem is related to Plasma application. I noticed the same problem on sddm login. I noticed

Will not authenticate incoming VOIP provider calls
I running Asterisk 1.1 on Mandriva 2006. Everything works fine, can connect with softphone, send outgoing calls to VOIP provider. The only (and big) problem is that Asterisk refuses to authenticate incoming calls with the message (in the log): Failed to authenticate user "XXXXXXXXXX" <sip:XXXXXXXXXX@209.17.160.129> From what I've read in the various docs I could access, I

Need help starting Plasma Pong
Alright, so I have no issues getting Plasma Pong started...as long as I run it through the command line. ie: Code: wine "C:\Plasma Pong\Plasma Pong.exe"[quote] That example works fine...as long as it's done in a terminal. However, the game seems to not like being ran without a terminal. (I can't just click on the .exe file to run it). I'm wondering if there's a way

Gnome weather applet stranded
The Gnome weather report applet has ceased working on CentOS5/6. http://weather.noaa.gov/ says "This service is no longer available". Are there any good alternatives? I liked the applet as it allowed the use of a custom radar map. As I just discovered, the weather functionality of the CentOS6 Gnome clock applet was using the same service.

Move KDE Plasma Integration to KDE Git Infrastructure
Hi Compiz developers, as you might know KDE will transition to git somewhen next week. This gives some new possibilities for the Compiz community, too. Let me first describe the current situation and the problems with it: Compiz and KDE releases are out of sync. We are currently more and more integrating features from the desktop shell into the window manager. In difference to other desktop

Break in the y-axis
Hello all, I have been having trouble getting a break in my y-axis. All of my data points are up around 100-200, but the graph has to start at zero, so i would like to remove all the white space using a break symbol. I have been able to get the break and labels to be correct, however, I can't seem to get the data to match the axis anymore. I must be using the axis.break() in plotrix

Login failure with Secure Boot
Hi all, I have a laptop in UEFI mode running CentOS 8.2. All works fine but when I enable Secure Boot, login via gdm is no longer possible. Console login is ok. I found some related discussions over on Ubuntu forums, suggesting that this could be related to 3rd-party kernel modules, such as nvidia. This laptop has only Intel builtin graphics, and every single module installed is part of the
