Size of produced binaries when compiling llvm & clang sources
Dear llvm developpers,
I followed the tutorial to build llvm and clang provided here:
https://clang.llvm.org/get_started.html
The sources are in sync with subversion repository, and I ended up with
more than 30GB of binaries in llvm/bin as shown at the end of this message.
I assume I did something wrong, but I did not find any entry in the doc
that helps me understand how to reduce the size of

FW: Input/output error
Rahul,
I just start experiencing the exact same problems on one of my
RedHat 7.3 servers. So far it has been about once a week. The first
time this happened, I was lucky enough to get an error in the error log,
and it turned out to be from an old kernel bug (kernel BUG at
journal.c:406!) I upgraded from 2.4.18-3smp to 2.4.18-27.7.xsmp, but
the problem came back, this time with no errors in the

CPU usage over estimated?
I have a quad core CPU running Centos5.
When I use top, I see that running processes use 245% instead of 100%.
If I use gkrellm, I just see one core being used 100%.
top:

Also in the log of some programs I see this strange factor:
CPU Seconds = 2632

Samba 3.0.14 (Debian Sarge) Memory Leakage
Hi!
Our Samba file server seems to have a memory leakage. We are using samba
as file server out of the box (debian sarge) on kernel 2.6.16.31.
After a while users who have some shares and files open are acquiring
more and more memory until the smbd dies.
Here is a small shortcut from top:

Feeback on RAID1 feature of Btrfs
Hello,
I''m testing Btrfs RAID1 feature on 3 disks of ~10GB. Last one is not
exactly 10GB (would be too easy).
About the test machine, it''s a kvm vm running an up-to-date archlinux
with linux 3.7 and btrfs-progs 0.19.20121005.
#uname -a
Linux seblu-btrfs-1 3.7.0-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 11 15:05:50 CET

CentOS 6.4 x86_64 VM Install freezes
I am trying to install a CentOS 6.4 x86_64 VM using a CentOS 5.9 x86_64
host, but its install has froze *twice*. What I am doing is to create a
10gig LVM volume, which I put a MS-DOS partition table on (using fdisk).
I then format the only partition to ext3, install grub and install the
pxeboot kernel and initrd.img and a simple grub.conf to load this.
I have the CentOS 6.4 x86_64 ISOs mounted

* and Zap on AMD64/Opteron
Hi,
I have a server coming, which consists of an ASUS SK8N motherboard, an AMD
Opteron 1.4g cpu, and 512m of dual channel memory. If you're not familiar
with this, the amd opteron is a 64bit cpu that does hardware 32bit
emulation. It will be running suse enterprise server for AMD64.
I will not be running * on this box, but in the future it may be a good
performer. So, before it goes into

Swap & logout
Ran into something tonight I've not seen before. The system has been up
for 20 days, and has not missed a beat of any sorts, even when getting
beat on at a decent level. What my concern is, tonight I attempted to
log out so X would restart, and from the looks of all the stuff on the
screen (which never did reload gdm) was chock full of statements where
swap had been exhausted, and processes

icecast cpu test
I just ran a test of icecast to see how much cpu it uses. I set 500
instances of wget downloading from the mount point over loopback, and the
cpu usage of the server was still barely reaching 0.3% on a 1.4G machine.
The total bandwidth was 15Mbit/s. Each stream was 64 kbit/s. (I think some
of the downloads weren't running fully - 15M/64k=240). I haven't tested
over ethernet yet.

GEOM_PART: integrity check failed (mirror/gm0, MBR) on FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE
I just did a source upgrade from 8.2 to 8.3. System boots but has this
warning:
GEOM_PART: integrity check failed (mirror/gm0, MBR)
Google points to issues with FreeBSD 9 and the need to migrate to GPT
but I wasn't expecting this with 8.3!
Are there any quick fixes to eliminate this warning or is it safe to
ignore please?
